Grow set up

Fairs I posted a pic on here the other day of the fan and filter that’s coming I’m gonna have that hooked up to exhaust some heat and stale air would you say I’d need the sealed hood with a filter hooked up to the also to reduce the heat even more or will the one in the the tent be sufficiently with the hps
With a 600w it’s possible to keep temps ok with an open hood.

don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of air cooled hoods as you saw in my closet redesign. (Cost me £175 for the hood lol) but it’s not a MUST have.

as for allowing water to sit out.

I haven’t done that for about 11 years lol.

Allowing water to offgas is almost as stupid as flushing lol. Especially once you realise that plants actually utilise Chlorine.

It would be good to get a water quality report to look whether you have any chloramine but most chloramine levels are below toxicity ppm for plants anyway.

Great I’m gonna use my 4 inch extraction fan that I currently have but turn it around and bring cool air in from the loft space and duct it to the floor of the tent and then use the new 6inch fan as extraction to take air out and hopefully that will work I’m gonna duct them to different ends of the loft space and where the roof meets the house should provide enough vent space will the insulation in the loft be an issue as to bringing cool air in?

Venting into an attic can cause condensation and mold. Be careful of that.
To be completely honest that’s something I can deal with once my set up is complete I’m a construction guy could fix that once my set up is running good hahaha I’m just worried about bringing air in my tent from the loft without any fibres off the insulation etc don’t wanna board the whole loft space out haha although would make a good grow room in the future haha

So replace decking on the roof due to mold to vent your tent. Sounds logical lol. For the intake just use a filter for incoming air which tbh you should do regardless of where the air is coming from.

So just throw the fan and filter in the loft and use that as intake then create a vent in the roof and vent it straight through to there ?

I’m struggling finding a systemar online that I can get asap everything’s a couple weeks I wanna adjust my setup soon ready for my hps to give the girls better light than the cfls is this fan and filter worth getting the 6 inch one rated at 550m3??
I can only vouch for centrifugal fans such as the Centri Flo on the second picture.

all the fans I have used have used have been centrifugal types.

But if it’s a true 550m3/h then yes it will work.

If they have one with a temperature sensor I would go for that one if you can.

Them 2 pictures are of the same fan I was just showing the spec on the second picture it’s the same kind of fan I have in the tent at the moment just stronger

@Dazza1529 what @Lordhooha said is correct about condensation and mould etc I added felting ribs in my loft space to create airflow without disturbing the integrity of the felting and tiles and then added soffit vents all along my fascia’s before venting into my attic.

I’ve been running mine this way since 2011 without issue.

Screen any intakes ALWAYS! Even if they are passive they should still be screened otherwise you’ll be kicking yourself if you bring in more pests.

Picture 1 is showing a mixed flo fan

Picture 2 shows multiple fans including mixed flo, acoustic box fans and centri flo fans.

My bad the second pic is the 6 inch but I believe you can get them in different styles like you say box fan etc it just says the 6 inch stayed in the first pic is 550m3

Make sure there's no insulation kicking about in the loft if using it to draw air in u need to duct to outside you dont wanna smoke or breath that shit lol
