Don't have a problem with tap water here one of the best in Britain but like your man said depends where you are big cities and the likes. I prefer my tap water to bottled water ours tastes way better very lucky I suppose. Lol I thought Canada would have some great water you must be in a bad area for tap water.

All i know is i got some friends who are scottish but stay in England and have done for years and they legit anytime they come on a trip back up they take scots tap water back home with em and some other things that are harder to get in England unless you live in a rare bad bit up here we are lucky water wise ours is good
