Electric costs

Yeah he could probably run a 600 hps in there 24/7 for half his current cost
Yeah, that's what I mean dude, I can run a 600watt hps for about 30 or 40 dollars a week, maybe even less. I thought the idea of having led lights was to save power? But it's costing me like 3 times as much lol :bigjoint:

I run two hlg 650 scorpions a ac unit a heater two exhaust fans two humidifiers that’s just the grow room and after all that was installed and running at full capacity my electric went up 100 dollars. There’s no way your one light is jacking your Bill up 100 dollars and on top of that I run two dehumidifiers outside the room to keep the difference correct
I thought I was dreaming when I woke up and the electric ran out and was off lol :bigjoint:

You’ve been offered solutions
You can insulate the space and heat with incandescent bulbs
Or replace with hid lighting
LED
It seems like you want it to work and obviously it won’t
It's just a pain in the ass to take out the LED, it weighs about 20kg and all of my old HPS equipment is covered in dust in the attic and I would have to spend hours cleaning it all up and taking out the led and climbing up into the attic lol :bigjoint:

Probably dumb and not an electrician but dont long cords draw more? Not sure if that equates to consumption
Long under sized extension cords can cause voltage drop which will increase the amp draw of a device using the power causing more usage. With the lovely side effects of over amping the powered device and possible ruining it or making it hit it's safety's if your lucky or tripping a breaker. If that all fails then the cord can get hot, melt and produce fire any where within the usage scenario. Same thing can happen with over volting a service or device.

Where do you live? And what kind of utility co. says your out of power? People go 3 or 4 months without paying there utility bills before there services get cut here.

There's no way I can take it down, it weighs 15 kilos and it's spread out and covers a 4x4 space so it's really hard to get in and out and you have to spread your hands out wide and take the weight of the whole thing and carry it out it's a pain in the ass lol

I'm using a 465w LED and a electric heater and its costing me $100 dollars per week to run it, surely this can't be right? HPS isn't half as expensive. I'm going to run out of electric and my crop is going to fail. I can't afford 100 dollars a week on electric. What am I supposed to do? I thought they were supposed to save electric, not use more. It's using about 20 dollars a day, is it because of the electric heater?
is your heater 2kW
