I have used this in previous Super soil mixes but always guessed on the amount, how much would you recommend in a standard super soil mix
id say atleast 5 lbs if your putting 5 lbs of blood meal in your mix i make a top dress tea so i can Tailor to different strains needs it stinks like a mother but it allows me to have smaller pots which accelerates wet dry cycles for faster growth

Vanilla Tart almost ready to be topped
Querkle recovered well from their topping
Now to veg these until they show sex and I will transplant them up to 7 gallon pots and flower four of my favorite females in my 3x3, hopefully 2 Querkle and 2 Vanilla Tart if there are more than four females I will keep cuttings of each female and compare them to the phenotypes I flower this run

more males culled today so far out of 4 querkle I got 3 males but that's just the luck of the draw, good thing I started the Vanilla Tart when I did, only thing is I got a few males out of those 6 as well so total 6 males so far but it is okay, after this run I will just start more seeds to fill in the gaps in my space

Got one male left out of my Vanilla Tart seedlings

Gonna make some F2’s of Vanilla Tart and an F1 of Vanilla Tart x Querkle that I’ll be testing and possibly taking to F2’s if I like the results

I will clone everything to keep the females and my Vanilla Tart male for future pollen chucking as well

Wish I had enough space to have one flower area to breed in and another to grow meds in, but I don’t so for now my meds will come from the dispensary while I chuck pollen, then once I have a cross or two made, I’ll grow out the flowers for smoke and to test stability of the genetics

Happy 4/20 y’all!

Making F2’s of Vanilla Tart and an F1 cross of Querkle x Vanilla Tart to test out..
Nothing is pollinated yet as the daddy’s pollen sacs are still forming and stacking up not yet drooping and opening to release his stuff.

But I did follow a lot of what Subcool wrote about male selection regarding vigor, terpenes, growth structure and showing sex later than his siblings to find this Vanilla Tart dad.

This is my first pollen chuck, but I have a good feeling about it so far,
I will keep the parents just in case of success on these two crosses.

Have a dank day everyone!

12 bladed Querkle fan leaf

She has several large fan leaves that look like this

Only time I’ve seen this trait was on Badgers Cuvée F2 but it was 13 blades on a leaf vs 12 on these

Vanilla Tart male is starting to open his pollen sacs about two weeks to two and a half weeks since flip

Gonna probably isolate him and collect his pollen in another room and use a paintbrush/Qtip to paint the branches I want pollinated so I can get some smoke out of this run as well and not just boo koo seeds

Once again I’m making Vanilla Tart F2’s and an F1 cross of Querkle x Vanilla Tart I’m very excited to say the least

Still out of super soil but if I make the mix soon it’ll be perfectly ready by the time I have seeds or cuts ready to flip, as this flower cycle is only 2 weeks in so I need 6-8 weeks at least to finish…

maybe even a bit longer as this is a seed making project and not just for smoke and that’s not including the veg time of said seeds or cuts so it will have plenty of time to “cook” before use…
