How many weeks of flower was that?
Ok so, let's talk about that girl. That is Vanilla Tart, she is a 50/50 hybrid bred by Subcool. I've kept her for over 2 years now. Clones are taken before moving to flower and veged until the flower room opens up again. Suggested flower time is 56 to 60 days. My son also wants to tell me to let them go a little longer so I was trying to let her go as long as possible. That was right at 8 weeks after seeing the first true flowers (not preflower). My son said that the one time he grew her he let her go fo 10 weeks. Just wasn't happening for me

Sounds like it’s never going to happen for you. My dad always thought he knew better than me too. No big deal. Someday let your ego wall down and listen to others. Sounds like the son has already surpassed the father. :hump:

Maybe I am.
Maybe it's been a bad day.
I'm not saying Bluelab isn't good. I'm just saying the one I was gifted wouldn't calibrate. It could have been mishandled before I got it. It could have been defective. Doesn't matter, for me to spend that kind of money I'm going need to be working in the field not just a hobbyist like I am now.
It likley wouldnt calibrate because the solution you used wasn't good to calibrate it with.

As far as EC goes, nothing is more fun than a truncheon. I use a cheap PPM meter for exact numbers sometimes, but it doesn't make me feel like a techno-wizard like with the truncheon.
Winner Winner
Chicken dinner !!!
I wish I had heard of this before I bought the cheap meter. I might have sprung for $100. I had to look up what you were talking about. This video
told me more about what to look for when measuring ppm in the last 15 minutes than every thing I've read the last few days and anything in this whole thread.

Thank you lusidghost

After watching the video what I get is stop feeding until the ppm drops feed again then wait for another significant drop before feeding again.
That is the plan for now.

@lusidghost Have you ran the the truncheon against cheap TDS/EC meters to see how accurate they are? (the cheap meters)
Yep. The truncheon is accurate, but only has 50 PPM point intervals. Like I said, I still use my crappy PPM meter if I want to know exact numbers. That's usually unnecessary though.

I like how the bulb continues to flash for a few seconds so that you can bring it up to look at without hitting a "hold" button or sticking your head into the res.

But they read close?

Just keep in mind the "exact number" it displays is likely off by far more than than the truncheon. Not unlike a $15 pH meter which displays to the hundredths.

Resolution without accuracy is meaningless.
