i think that might have been part of the reason, but i'm more inclined to think putin wanted trump in place because it facilitated russian money laundering...trump helped them wash BILLIONS, if not trillions...and how much did trump get paid for this service? inquiring minds are sickened but still want to know
Putin also used Trump to set this all up.
He had Bozo the clown running things & Putin knew it.
This took years of planning to implement & Putin did it right under Trumps nose while Trump was fawning over him.
And Biden is blamed by the Republicans
Fuck them.

The biggest moron here is this joker Zelensky, look at his sick rhetorics, constantly encouraging his people to flight "until the last breath", the battle they can't win, that sick motherfucker, I wonder if he would send his son to the front. What did this moron expect? That NATO would stand up to Russia and risk a 3rd world war? Sick bitch. As someone who spent 2 years ON THE FRONT, I can't express my anger and sorrow for those poor people

If the people wont fight for their country, who will?

Why just roll over to a fucking dictator?? May as well be dead, than ruled by a fucking nut. Hes going to tale them back to the stone ages. Id be like a Pitbull. Id fight to my last breath, and then some. Never give up.
Russia couldnt win in Afghanistan either. It will be really hard for Russia to keep control of the whole country, if people keep up the fight. With all the sanctions the USA has put on Russia, and other countries following in step is really going to fuck Russia up.

Theres also a push beginning to ban Russia from using the Swift Banking System. Not everyone is on board yet, but its only a matter of time. France, and the UK are already calling for the Russian Ban.

Also consider Russia doesnt have very much food, and if all food imports are cut off, theres no way Russia can run their military. They wont even be able to fee their people. The USA is the breadbasket of the world. China also grows alot of food, but they eat most of what they grow.
Russias economy is less than California. Only 1 state in USA has a larger economy than Russia. It wont take much to cripple them when it comes down to it. If the world wants to really get tough on the Russians, the world can bury them in short order.

Also if Russia starts a cyber attack, that affects a NATO country to its detriment, Article 5 will be invoked, and NATO will become involved in the war. Its already being talked about.

Russia has also said it was going to attack the USA infrastructure. Like our electrical grid, and gas lines. If they do that, there will be hell for them to pay.
Putin is digging a bigger, and bigger hole for himself by the hour.

Define the difference between offensive & defensive weapons.
Personally, I don't see any difference and most wars are started using the lie it's a defensive action & a present-day example is Ukraine
The weapon itself could be the same. How and why it's used is the variable to determine if it's offensive force or defensive force.

You are peacefully sitting at home, halfway thru a fat spliff and reading my pearls of wisdom on RIU, when a gang of thugs breaks in, threatens you with a gun and ties you to your bed and begins to tickle your nether region with a seagull feather.

Assuming you aren't into seagull feathers and guns being used to gain control over you, this is an instance of a gun being used in a manner that's "offensive force". The thugs initiated aggression, you were just hanging at home peacefully bothering nobody.

What the thugs didn't realize is you have a weapon hidden under your mattress, not the 9" vibrator, the other thing...a gun.

You're able to wrest one hand free, unbeknownst to the thugs who are busy sharing the half joint you were working on when they broke in. You use the gun to convince them to untie you, and tell them to leave or suffer the consequences. You also tell them to leave the seagull feather, ummm, "as evidence". This is an instance of a gun being used in an application of "defensive force".

I hope that clarifies things for you.

I had mentioned earlier that one positive thing about this conflict is that it will push the EU towards Green energy solutions to meet they're energy demands.

Seems that what going to happen.

Germany says Russia will lose energy customers over Ukraine (msn.com)
Another positive is maybe the USA will agree to take all their stupid nukes out of Europe and other areas that are pointed at Russia, not to mention all the silly bases and military occupation the USA engages in. It's obvious that "the Monroe Doctrine" foreign policy of the USA is about to be used against it.

Maybe people will finally realize military aggression is costly and detracts from actually solving problems that lead to a more peaceful world.

The USA had a chance to bring actual peace to the world, but the example the USA used wasn't peace, it was world domination and control for corporate interests. Those chickens are coming home to roost now. Happens to every empire.

and then they conspire to lie to police claiming you a drug-head held them at gun-point to steal their priced seagull-feather so you get incarcerated for robbery!

How can you dare to misuse a protective weapon in such aggressive style, the judge asks you

U see the point ;)

If the people wont fight for their country, who will?

People should fight for justice and individual rights and freedom, not for a political government that controls them.

Fighting for a country when the heads of state are thugs, is like slaves fighting for their plantation and arguing with slaves from a different plantation whose master has the biggest dick.

Would you fight for Dick Cheney or Joe Biden to line his pockets? Lots of guys have. Fuck that.

So first it’s NATO/US ‘s fault Putin attacked and now it’s Zelensky’s fault Ukrainians are dying in an attempt to defend their country? The labels in your post apply, objectively, to you and Putin.

Zelensky was voted in with 73% of the vote. The people in Ukraine love him, and the alternative was a Putin butt buddy.

He also tried to negotiate with Putin when first elected, and Putin gave him the cold shoulder. He also Jewish, and lost 3 family members to the Holocaust. So Putin saying hes trying to stamp out Nazism, is laughable.

You cant say theyre slaves. They elected the guy in a fair election. Theres no proof of any funny business. They voted or who they wanted, and he won with a huge margin.

Doesnt matter that Putin is a bully. And in the end Putin, and Russia will get theirs. They will be outcasts, and have had many of their assets frozen, and more is to come. They wont be able to collect money from their oil, and gas products. They will be shut off at every corner. They wont be able to get enough food, which will really piss the Russian people off.

The Russian people are also against Putins invasion. He has very little support at home, and the backlash is growing. What Putin is doing isnt sustainable. He may winn in the short run. But hes fucked in the long run. Especially if he causes harm to NATO countries. He will also be in deeper shit, if he attacks the USA infrastructure.

Russians join global protests against Putin’s Ukraine invasion despite warnings
Hundreds of protestors in Moscow Thursday clashed with federal police, and opposition activist Marina Litvinovich was detained as she left her home.

Photos showed officers with the Interior Ministry’s Main Directory for Public Order Maintenance carrying protestors away on Thursday night, Moscow time.

Police reported making over 600 arrests, Interfax reported.

A later video, shot by Wall Street Journal reporter Matthew Luxmoore, showed hundreds of protestors peacefully marching through central Moscow. chanting, “no to war.”

Protests broke out in Vladimir Putin’s home town of St. Petersburg as well.

Russia’s Novaya Gazeta reported Thursday that local leaders from over 100 municipalities had signed letters in protest of the invasion. Officials from Moscow and St. Petersburg were among them.

In all, over 1,750 Russians were arrested for anti-war protests Thursday, according to OVD-info, an independent Russian human rights organization.

Their calls were echoed across Europe, with reports of protests in London, Paris and Berlin.

If "none of the above" isn't an option when it comes to voting, it's biased from the start.

They're at a minimum. captives. and some are definitely slaves.

Yes, and yes. It's a lost cause and Zelensky knows it. He's knowingly sending his people (civilians too, he's calling them to make Molotovs!) to certain death. How stupid you gotta be.
