Greetings and Salutations from San Francisco!
I have been living in San Francisco since 2014
And now I finally have a home!
I was homeless for a long while and now I have a wonderful apartment and I'm ready for the first time in my life to grow weed!
I have been doing a lot of online research and studying things about soil and pH and nutrients and water and conditions and lighting.
I have had a pretty good Green thumb in the past as I used to grow watermelons in Texas and also in Spokane Washington I had a small garden.
But of course cannabis is a much different animal and I am at the point where I I'm deciding on which grow light to use.
I have a wonderfully tall window that has about a 5 foot headroom, that is only getting indirect Sun as it is in between two buildings.
So the good news is I can grow a pretty tall strain, but I'm wanting to know what to do next.
I have three (3) gallon pots, which I'm going to eventually poke holes in to get some air flow and I'm going to put the pots in an aluminum tray on the bottom for some reflectivity.
I do also have some Auto shade aluminum reflective surfaces that I can use which I was planning on adhesing to the surface of the wood on the window and try to surround everything with aluminum.
Was also thinking of using the mini blinds with aluminum on one side to also help with reflectivity if you think that's a good idea?
But my main concern right now is which type of LED.
I'm looking at a few options so far.
I wanted to get something that has individual control over the red and blue spectrums as well as having a UV and infrared and white light.
The area that the pots are in is 36 Inches Long by 10 Inches Wide.
I'm also planning on putting strawberries on the other side of the window outside so I'm hoping for a grow light that could reach out there as well which is probably going to add another 8 in in length the other way.
As I said earlier the sun doesn't really hit here except for during the summer and even then I only get like 1 hour of direct sun and the rest of the days indirect Sun.
Here's the lights I'm looking at so far:
As well as my growing area in the window.
If you have any other suggestions for what kind of lighting would be good for this area, please let me know!
Thank you.
