mine is at 12% outside right now.

i like integra boost packs better for retaining smells
im gonna try both brands (boveda and integra boost) size 8s (8 grams) to use in 1 quart jars like recommended.
ive seen a few posts of people liking 58s better than 62s so I might try that also.
then was looking at 62s in size size 4s. might be comparable to 58s size 8
lots of options.
integra boost seems to only offer 62s in so 8 on Amazon
thanks for the feedback

I'm still up in the air on this one. I used them at first, but haven't been using them lately. They sent me the Boveda Challenge kit with the CVaults. I haven't used it yet. But I've done with and without packs in jars. I need to do a real test, and check the difference short vs long term.

Here's what Boveda says and how they explain it:

Does Boveda steal terps?
No, Boveda does not steal terpenes. It’s the only humidity control that protects terps. While other 2-way humidity control might put humidity in the container, only Boveda 2-way humidity control creates a monolayer of purified water vapor over the trichome to protect cannabis terpenes from evaporation. Boveda is the original terpene shield™. Boveda’s all natural salt solutions help protect your terpenes at precise humidity levels to ensure ideal weight without worry of over drying or mold.
Cannabis Terpene Shield

When I opened the jar with Boveda, my cannabis didn’t really smell—what happened to the smell?
When your cannabis is stored with Boveda, the terpenes are protected with a monolayer shield of purified water, the aroma you love is kept safe until grinding. Once the cannabis is ground, it releases the aroma with great potency. Or in more detail, the aroma of your cannabis comes from the terpenes, or essential oils of your flower. So when you get a nice “nose hit” from your cannabis, you are actually smelling the terpenes evaporating off of your flower. So although in the past people have judged the quality of cannabis by the smell, strong aromas emanating from your cannabis is actually a sign of terpene degradation. Rather than these precious terpenes evaporating into the air, Boveda shields these terpenes inside of the trichomes where they belong, until the moment of consumption.

i use the 67gram packs at 62%. 2 per gallon container. they don't last as long a boveda but the smells linger longer. lol

I would stick with the 62s. It does keep the bud a little too wet to smoke perfectly but if you live somewhere dry it doesn’t take long to fix that.

I have 10-20% rh year round and so far my 62s are keeping the jars right on point 6-7 months in.

I've used Bovedas and not used Bovedas in jars of the same plant and can't tell any difference

to be fair, it was perfectly dried before it was jarred and didn't need the Bovedas to do anything really

I kept my Bovedas in a jar. I went to get one and it had ruptured somehow. I came out with a handful of goo. It's only happened once but I can't imagine how I would feel if that were my storage jar of weed. The only way I'll use them now is if I put them into an open jar in the middle of the C-vault or jar. No way will they ever be floating loose or in the keeper on the c-vault lid.

I don't understand the science behind this.

Never used and never going to. I think they mostly make it easier for newcomers to loose smell and flavor from drying it wrong. If I were to do like some suggest on this site I would get that grass and hay smell people describe.

Why overly complicate a fairly simply process? Dry in a fairly cool place and don't jar it to early is my advice, but I guess it's also down to personal preference.

Then find something better to do instead of being useless to the conversation and wasting your time.

I got the Boveda Challenge Kit too, which was very generous I thought. I did the challenge....wasn't sure. Bought some 62% packs to throw in my big jars for storage. I agree the smell seems less, but the flavor is still awesome after pretty much a year of opening and closing the jars. I may not use them this round just to see how it goes. I admit I get careless toward the end of the dry when I use them. If I'm pretty close I just jar them with a boveda and not worry. I don't have lots of time to burp the jars etc.

I had some, my house stays around 50-60rh though so I don’t really need them. Gave the rest to my old plug, they like em though great for keeping weed from dryin out in the car.

It’s not a simple process some places.

Drying is actually by far the most complicated part for me. Rh holds at 10-15% almost always.

Then after figuring out a way to properly dry, you have to deal with keeping it that way.

the packs are a huge help. One of the reasons I started growing was because dispensary weed was always too dry.

I dry in a tent with a humidifier on a hygrostat and use a thermometer and humidity meter to dial that in. Done. I'm glad the packs help you but there's other ways around it IMO. Cheers!

Dryings not complicated, achieve 50-60rh and 60-70f and leave it to hang till stem cracks dry when you bend test or if you’re fancy till the moisture meter(like you’d use for lumber) reads between 10-12%.

achieving those parameters can be costly but it’s hardly complicated. there are corners you can cut to make do like the paper bag method and you’ll have decent bud cause maintaining a controlled drying environment costs more money and space than you care to use/spend and those can come with some complications, but if you’ve got the resources to it right it’s about as straight forward and uncomplicated as it gets.

i got a question about using multiple packs. I use integra boost but have no problem using bovada. Both are the same to me. My question is how many do i use per bag? The big pack is for up to a pound of flower but lets say I have 20 ounces. Do i now have to buy the smaller packs to hit that 20 ounce recommendation or can I throw 2 big 68 gram packs inside of there?

id use 2. you said "bag"though, ive yet to meet a plastic ziplock style bag that retained my nug moisture at optimum levels, these work better in jars.

You’re absolutely right. I use turkey bags and they wear as time goes on. Not really a big issue but i just don’t want to buy all different sizes.
