So what do you recommend?

I was looking at this unit: Electric trimmer

I would like to trim after I yank my outdoor crop this year and don't feel like wasting crap loads of time with scissors again.

Any recommendations?

Would anyone suggest dry trimming instead and if so can I use same machine for this?
Maybe someone has another option they would recommend (Don't even mention scissors, not interested)

Depending on how many pounds you're trimming but centurion table top pro

I live in a legal state and you can rent several types dry trim, wet only, or a combination
As a rule they rent for around $500 a day so you get a chance to see which you prefer
Naturally the ones people prefer most tend to cost thousands
So if you are considering buying one that costly I would try to hit a grow shop on a road trip and get live advice and hands on training
Unfortunately the cheaper ones were not something I wanted to buy

The 2020 harvest took 3 of us well over 65 hours to get trimmed, vowed never to do it again.
Broke down and bought a Centurion Pro tabletop, for 2021, wasn't cheap, but knocked our trimming down to under 9 hours. Personally for my situation, it was worth the investment, and it really didn't "beat up" the buds, smokes and tastes just as well as our "hand trimmed". With my work schedule, it was nice to be able to come home and knock out a bunch for the drying rack instead of long tedious nights of using scissors.
We ran both "wet" and "dry" thru it experimenting last year, and have come up with a great medium that doesn't lose as many trichomes, yes we lose some, but the "Quantanium" roller works as advertised, and not much sticks to it, had to clean it after about 4 hours of running, but 10 minutes of downtime, and letting buds pile up in the hopper is a bonus.
The trim collection works especially nice, and produced some excellent runs of bubble hash also.
We are actually looking forward to growing some giants for the 2022 season, and this year, will probably wash it all and make hash, since the wife and I enjoy it much more.

That is one nice looking machine but the price of one is sick.
I am still new to this so that is a bit out of reach for me, need a little bit more reasonably priced as for how much to trim... IDK because again I am still new to this and last year proved to be very poor due to lack of me feeding more, maybe the ferts I used etc. but I hade planned for 12 -20 LBs I got more like 4.5 it sucked. I am not going to make same mistakes this year.,
Need to make sure I am prepared properly this time.

Now that is some good advice / info. Still not so interested in the price of one but that does sound much better.

It's definitely a prohibiting factor in a lot of cases, but this will be my 38th year of growing outdoors, and I'm basically done with hand trimming, too many years of scissors, and it just doesn't agree with my body much anymore sitting for 8+ hours a night trimming. Check around to your local hydro shops, a lot of them around me rent them out, but have to get on a "list" to get your space in line.
Once you hit the 8-10# range, it becomes a definite viable helper IMO, it just plain cuts your trim time down 75-85%, and I made close to half of the cost back "renting" mine out to fellow growers who couldn't get on a list, with me is site running it. Its not hard, and takes a bit of getting used to, and I would rather be there IF something does happen, that way at least there is no finger pointing.

That was my preference
The wet or dry aspect made it a done deal

Paid just under $4k for mine, they screwed my order up, so I ended up with both the Electropolished and Quantanium rollers, which was a "bonus". Never got more than 1 1/2 hours out of the Electropolished one though before it started to get where it needed to be cleaned off, the extra money for the "Quantanium" is worth it IMO.

I am feeling like this may be a do or die kind of things, do it and spend the cash, don't die when wife sees bill kind of thing.. LOL

What about something in between like this unit: Dry & wet trimmer

It appears to be able to do both and at a reasonable price till I can afford a much larger unit like the one you guys recommend????

Just to give you an idea, a friend bought one last year, did one plant, and called me to use mine, he just wanted the throughput and didn't want to wait. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent machine and it's a bridge between a hand crank "bowl" trimmer, and a Tumbler like Herb and I have. I researched long and hard before I dropped the money, I was even looking at a Twister T4, but comparing apples to apples, the Centurion IMO is just a better machine.
And I looked at it this way, it was a better investment than an automobile and it will probably still be churning out crops long after I'm gone, and with a 10 year warranty on the motors, it's gonna last quite a while.

Make a few calls and see if one is available for rent, being in the doghouse isn't fun, and my wife about shit when she saw how much I spent, then seen how much we pushed thru compared to the year before, with very little effort, and came to the conclusion that it was money well spent

Very true and thanks for the advice. I will do some digging and see if I can get a rental some place.
