Time for a quick update! The buds are developing nicely for this stage, they appear right on track for a good harvest. Here is the group shot:

Here is the Old Red Sour. She's really expressing some nice sour terps at this point, and if you look carefully, the buds are starting to form the foxtails that the Riri cut is known for. I'll show a closeup next so you can see what I mean.

Well, it's not as clear as I'd hoped, but she's looking nice and frosty!

IMG_20220108_054621415_HDR.jpg

Next up is the Blue D #5. She was a bit shorter than her neighbors so I raised her up about 3 inches on wooden blocks. Now all of the plants are receiving 55-60k lux. She's sticky as ever and reeking of OG goodness. I'll show a close up of her next too.

Petrol Skunk, happy as ever:

And lastly, the White Widow, this plant will likely be the earliest maturing plant I've grown in a long time:

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you!

.

Rurumo I can hardly believe how even your canopy is. How long do you veg to get your canopy so even and buds wall to wall?

.
Thanks a lot Hobbes! I vegged these for 7 weeks. Sometimes I go a full 8 weeks but if I do that, I always seem to run out of headspace. This was a good group of plants to grow together-sometimes you'll get one that just won't stop growing, and then you just have to keep supercropping and bending branches to keep it even. Next time I'll mainline for an even 16 bud sites on each plant and veg for 6-7 weeks and compare the results to this grow. So far what I'm seeing is that whether you go for 8 primary bud sites, or 20+, they have different positives and negatives and honestly I like both ways.

I have it on my android Samsung note20 ultra and it's the least accurate out of 3 different apps (tent buddy, ppfd meter, and photone) according to my par quantum sensor.
I use the uni-t lux Meter and rented an apogee to calibrate it. Ended up finding out the photone app with uni-t ut383 was showing a 6% difference (higher) than the apogee. They offer a calibration function which is handy.

Without the uni-t Meter it was off around 15%, reading too low (Oppo R17 pro), and would freeze up around 688umol/s, and not read any higher. Now with the uni-t I can read up to 1400umol before it won't sense any higher.

I wanna say that photone was reading almost 40% too low not sure would have to double check but yeah either way photone is garbage

Looking good you and that light are crushing it.

How deep down does the canopy extend?
They've recovered a bit too much from the defol I gave them under the canopy, especially the plant on the left, it's the Old Red Sour and a super vigorous plant. I never lollipop though, I love that popcorn bud larf! The plant on the right is lifted up on blocks a few inches, it's the OG. I have two fans under the canopy just to make sure there are no stagnant areas, I like to see everything moving.

Thanks! Still too much shorter branches on every plant so mainlining for next round in here too!
Are u going to have same 4 plants also next time or more?
Yes, I really like 4 plants in a 4x4, and for now, I'll keep growing out 4 strains at a time for variety. I always keep clones of them until I know if I have a keeper among them. I just like having variety in my stash.

Are u going to do that mainlining with clones? Trying to get 16 equal tops with clone is pretty annoying since they are not growing asymmetrical as u probably know. I just did last topping to my clones and its pain in the ass to keep branches about same sized

In my current grow, I'm just using one clone for mainlining, but it works fine with clones. I like to let them grow out 5-6 nodes, then look for the strongest, most even set of growing tips and use that for the mainline, and top above it. It could be the first node, or the 3rd or 4th, but usually one pair will be better than the rest. The more even they are, the bigger the "arms" of the mainline will be. Next time I will grow all from seed though just because I'm still plowing through strains looking for terps that I like.

Hello all, welcome to today's update! I'm pleased with where things are at, buds starting to thicken up nicely and some nice frost coming in. Today I'll show close up shots of a bud from each plant so you can see the development. Group shot:
