2 in 1 tents and medic grow spec x/smart 8 vs mars hydro fce6500/8000

Moved recently because of a house fire so my growing options have more of a size limit. Looking at one of the various 2 in 1 tents 4x5x6.5 basically a 4x4 with two vertical racked 1x4 chambers for moms/starts. I’m leaning towards the vivosun for the low cost and since there’s no animals upstairs I don’t really need the 1680 or 2000D canvas like on the mars hydro/ac infinity tents. 6in fan filter setup for the big chamber with a mars fce6500/8000 or medicgrow spectrum x/smart 8

small chambers will each have 80-160w led looking at the duralux 1x4 lights and probably a 4in exhaust no filter since just veg/seeds/moms

Gonna do some kind of hydro too but I’ll figure out method as I go. Have experience with dwc but half ass want to try ebb and flow so I can grow a wider variety.

any input would be appreciated

Of the cheap tents, I've seen them all up close and I like the Ipower tents the best (least amount of light leaks, better material, good zips), which is nice because they also are usually near the cheapest. I'd skip the chambered tents, kind of a neat idea, that sucks in practice. I'd go for a 5x5 with the Smart 8, if you have the space-you won't regret the huge amount of extra room a 5x5 brings you, and the Smart 8 has the wattage to cover the footprint well. Good luck!

A 5x5 might be pushing it in my bedroom. Some longtime friends had a spare room for me after the fire and they’re excited about my grow skills. It’s not a big room though, about 10x15 eyeballing it. So a 5x5 and a veg/starting tent might be more space than I’m comfortable sacrificing. The 5x4 2in1s though give me 4x4 to flower with easy 1.5-2lb harvests(should be plenty for 3 heads only 2 of us smoke heavy really) and 2 1x4 racks. I know medicgrow has a sale rn which has me leaning towards the spectrum x, but I see it dims in pretty big increments which is not ideal. I had a mars fce4800 in my old 8x4 next to a SAMPHON 480 (wide incremental dimming like the medicgrow, honestly looking at their lights I’m pretty sure it’s the same manufacturer) and being able to adjust more accurately on the mars light just kinda worked better for me. Think max wattage I’ll actually run is gonna be in the 500s probably close to 6 if I opt for uv/ir bars

Might be going with a 600w hps/mh or 630 cmh to start. Just lower starting costs and the additional heat should be good for winter. Might Do a quick auto run just to get started back up.

This is looking like the setup so far, scratching the 2in1 and just gonna setup a veg tent in the next month or so after I get the main one going. 1261A32C-0E7A-4AC7-ACE0-1B29757B7D00.png021E7429-DDA3-4E12-A360-D7DF98EF41F6.png0413D808-56A0-4932-A3F9-49EE4715BA40.png

Got the calibration and cleaning kit for the pH probe??
Also try using the capital one app on a web browser on a computer to get any lower deals I always save some $$ there. It will also try out discount codes

Good luck to your new grow I hope it is like a Phoenix rising from the ashes
Or something like that lol

The ph/ec pen comes with all that, storage solution too! Don’t bank with capital one though but I’m pretty good at finding deals. Pretty much a whole 4x4 setup for under $600. I do miss my 8x4, 4x4 and 2x4 setup but I lost them and everything else in the fire

After some thinking I’m probably just gonna do a peat/perlite/lime mix with salts for this run, keeping res temp in check under hid is something I’d rather not deal with rn. Get a few fem autos going 4-6 in 3 gallon pots and I’ll be gucci
