These leaves are from two different plants. I just thought they would make a good picture to show how different strains have different magnesium needs. The plant on the left is actually bigger and faster growing than the plant on the right. The plant on the right is OG dominant, and every OG I've ever grown has been a magnesium hog. One thing I've noticed is that, this level of magnesium deficiency doesn't seem to bottleneck your yield. It's something you need to address, but it isn't a dealbreaker. Currently, I feed these 4 plants 4 gallons of nutes every 12 hours. To each 4 gallon bucket, I add 8 g part A, 4 g calnit, and 3.5 g epsom salts. I'm also adding 2 grams MKP during early/mid flowering, just to get my phosphate up slightly from Jack's 3,2,1 ratios. My tap water has 40 ppm calcium carbonate, which is why I lowered my calnit. That gives me exactly 1.2 ec. On top of that I add 1 teaspoon (per 4 gal bucket) soy hydrolysate, 10 ml seaweed extract, and 3 ml Mr. Fulvic-again, per 4 gallon bucket just to be clear. I firmly believe the amino acids and fulvic acid help chelate the calcium (among other things). I just wanted to go over my current regimen for anyone who doesn't want to go back and read the beginning (plus, to mention the MKP). I have a bunch of pics coming this morning, I just need more coffee first!

Oh, and here is one for fans of stem porn! This is why I like mainlining.

This is the Blue D #5, which is Karma's Josh D OG (f) X (Northern Lights #5 x 1980s Blueberry). At 3.5 weeks, this is one of the stickiest plants I've ever grown. A lot of good strains will have nice trichome coverage on their young buds like this, but this thing is STICKY. I pinched off two fan leaves and now I can't get the resin off with dishsoap, I had to bust out the isopropyl. Never discount NL #5 in your breeding programs, or your pollen chucks, it always seems to add that good sticky resin, and I think it potentially could add a lot to an OG cross. I've been looking for good NL genetics since I noticed this. I'll probably go with AKBB, but that British Columbia Seed Company (is that the name?) also seems promising.

3.5 weeks into 12/12, I like to see everyone with their leaves up!

Blue D #5, by far the stickiest and tastiest smelling at this early stage

The White Widow (old 90s widow) is a strange bird, pistils turning brown, and slower growth than the others. This plant REEKS of overripe peach. Seriously, the peachiest plant I've ever grown. I hope she continues to grow and doesn't stall out.

Here is my Petrol Skunk clone, stacking like crazy, I love this plant!

This is right around 4 weeks of 12/12. Just fed them their every 2 weeks aspirin treatment. Everything is still doing well except for the White Widow that has sort of stalled out after being the first to form pistils. I've checked carefully for intersex traits but don't see any hint of them, so I think this is just a classic case of early White Widow pistil browning, which has been pretty well documented over the past 20 years. Being an S1 of an old cut, it lacks the hybrid vigor of the other 3 strains, however, plants like this can sometimes make great parents if they have traits you are looking for. As it is, I will probably not grow that plant again. The other three plants are doing great though!

My current favorite of the group, Blue D #5. So, last night I reached into it from the top to pluck out a few fan leaves halfway inside, and clip a few suckers I had missed last week, and when I took my arm out, it was covered in resin and itching like crazy. I couldn't get it off with soap and water so I had to use rubbing alcohol on my entire arm. This plant is so ridiculously sticky, even the fan leaves. I like to have a pure OG around at all times for my personal stash, and I admit, I was a bit worried about growing an OG/landrace cross and relying on it for months instead of growing out something I know is excellent, like Karma's Biker Kush...but this plant is really turning out nice.

Here is my favorite night night meds, Petrol Skunk! <3

And finally, my poor little WW losing the square footage battle against the big dogs. But, I must say, I've never smelled any plant this peachy.

Thanks for stopping by my little grow! Have a great rest of your week and stay safe!

Rurumo how many plants are you growing (edit-went back to post 1, 4 plants) and how many colas per plant?

Thanks.

ps. Looks Great!

Your grow is looking awesome. Love that canopy.

Resin is a great problem to have!
My goto method. Butter and salt. Start dry no water.

Grab a dab of butter (or oil of choice, olive, veg etc) and a shake of salt in one hand. More salt = more aggressive scrub.

Use both hands to rub the mess all over the resin and wipe down with clean dry paper towels.

Wash hands and arms with warm water.

I'm not sure the exact number but I think each is around 20-25 colas per plant. I wanted to push the number a bit more than usual this time just to experiment.

I just tried your clone trick with the solo cup and ziplock. I didn't have any root riot plugs so I had to use rockwool. I just grabbed two tiny branches from the bottom to see if it works out with rockwool or not. They're motorbreath 15 clones I want to flower. I'll order some root riot plugs this weekend for the pre 98 bubba kush clones that are going to flower with them. Thanks again for the great idea and I'll let you know if I get roots from them.
You're plants look amazing, I'm hoping to get to where I can keep mine that healthy through flower. I'd like to give the petrol skunk a try, night meds that are strong enough for me are hard to find. Hence the pre 98 bubba kush clones.

Sweet, I'm sure you'll have some nice clones in no time. I also liked Bubba Kush back in the day, there were some really nice examples around. Thank you for the kind words, I just try to take note of what works and build on it each grow to keep improving-and I still occasionally mess up big time. I still have a long way to go compared to some people, but that's the fun part of doing this, seeing your plants flourish and improve over time. I think Petrol Skunk would be popular with a lot of growers, the vigor of it is just fun to see.

Happy New Years Eve! Stay safe tonight peeps. Here is a quick update, no major changes to report. I gave another aspirin treatment on Tuesday and I'm always amazed at how happy the plants look the next day. I'll continue with it every 2 weeks to see if it makes any noticeable difference in trichomes or in preventing botrytis. Really I'm looking at my Petrol Skunk clone for that, since I lost some of the biggest colas last time due to bud rot deep inside of them, and, I have a ton of pictures of it saved so I can look for any differences in the trichomes. I doubt I'll see a difference because the commercial products that contain salicylic acid are usually meant to be dosed on a daily basis.
