Beautiful plants, @Rurumo. I just picked up some aspirin last night! Planning to mix in with my plant's weekly beneficial bacteria flush.. funny it's mentioned this morning. bongsmilie

Good luck on your flower cycle. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and grow! :peace:

Advanced has an expensive product, I'm forgetting the name at the moment, but it contains chitosan, salicylic acid, and harpin protein, and their schedule has people feeding that every day-I think that's wayyy too much.
Is it the rhino skin from advanced?

I found some nice cut to size vent filter material on Amazon. You can find it by searching "Fasmov 98 x 18 inches Complete", it cost me $13.99 for a roll that will probably last me for a decade and came with a roll of adhesive velcro, in case you need it. The cool thing is, if you just cut it to size, it sticks on the velcro material around the grow tent vents, so you don't need to tape it or anything. IMG_20211212_123216099.jpg

I've thought about ordering some of that. I have a roll of hepa filter that I have tried to use in conjunction with my extraction/intake, but I was unable to get it secured to the fans where I was comfortable. Last thing I need is for it to get sucked into my AC infinity.

Noticed some light tip burnage on the Petrol Skunk this morning. This plant is in the back left corner of my tent, so I realized I've consistently been feeding slightly less than the other three plants (this is the last plant I feed), so she's been getting less runoff than the others. It's no big deal, I just wanted to show how getting about a liter less feed can have an impact when it comes to runoff in coco. I feed these 4 plants exactly 4 gallons of nutrient solution twice per day, so I'm just going to up that to 4.5 and be extra careful not to slosh the bucket. This is the second time I've grown this plant and I just love the structure it gets from the Critical Mass "bilbo" cut, but the tradeoff is she is prone to bud rot.

I did a round of supercropping on all of these plants last night and this morning, time to start constraining the height. I've found in the past you can supercrop as much as you want in early flower with no negative impacts on yield at all, only positive. Here is the White Widow:

Josh D #5 flowering nicely:

And here is the Old Red Sour, she's the slowest to flower, but also has the most landrace genetics. I'm excited about this plant, she's a beast and would crush the other three plants in the tent if I let her grow unrestricted. I suspect she'll flower for a good long while. I'm excited to see if she get's the gnarly foxtails from her "riri cut" mommy, which is a very cool cut. Definitely most excited to see how she turns out this round:

And here is the group shot. I think from here on out I'll update these individual and group pics twice weekly:

It has been just over two weeks since I flipped to 12/12 so tonight I'll take some time and clean up each plant under the canopy, final defoliation and remove any suckers. They could use more circulation under the canopy, even with two fans down there. I've decided to try giving them aspirin in their feed once per week, just to see if I notice any difference. Feeding them with it just twice like I usually do seems arbitrary, and I do have one plant that's prone to bud rot, so let's see if it makes a difference. I gave it to them again yesterday.

.

What's super cropping? I've seen posts about it but never dug deep to see how it's done.

I see that you take off the top or two sets of leaves.

What's the purpose of the aspirin?
Salicylic acid controls a plant's immune response to infection. There is a large and growing body of research showing that aspirin (which is acetyl-salicylic acid, and appears to work the exact same as regular salicylic acid in plants) can increase yield, reduce the impact of various stressors, and enhance immunity against bacterial and fungal pathogens. There are a lot of studies out there now, but it's hard to nail down a dosage that isn't totally arbitrary, I think weekly is too much. My last dose was on Tuesday, so from there, I plan on feeding it every two weeks during flower. Too much and you can stunt growth and greatly interfere with auxin transport. There is also some interesting research on grapes and strawberries as a post harvest treatment for botrytis. Basically, applying aspirin to harvested grapes/strawberries that have been exposed to botrytis greatly reduces it's spread. So I think it might also have a use in a post harvest bud bath, especially if you've had some bud rot in the crop.
