me too, actually. i didn't expect one midwest state to be below 40%Nebraska surprises me. I thought everyone would have a duck gun or something for livestock in pain.

I never thought of Nebraska as Midwest. We were taught ca. 1970 that the Midwest was Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Missouri.me too, actually. i didn't expect one midwest state to be below 40%
Hard to believe since NH has the second highest per capitahttps://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/09/13/key-facts-about-americans-and-guns/

there's your map of where change will or won't be easy...the darker the state, the less likely they are to support change...
yeah, but 6 people live in NH...if 3 of them own a firearm, that's 50%....Hard to believe since NH has the second highest per capita

Too many guns on the streets is part of the problem. How would you handle implementing severe restrictions on carrying?whether true or not, it seems like you're just collecting all the available firearms in the area so someone can steal all of them at one time...
i have thumb print trigger locks on my shotgun and rifle, and my pistols are either on me, or locked in a safe that's bolted to wall studs when i go out of the house.

I have only lived in coastal states where carry limitations have always qualified as severe. So imo that one is “problem solved”, look to CA or MS lawToo many guns on the streets is part of the problem. How would you handle implementing severe restrictions on carrying?

well, first i would make it a federal law that there are no more person to person undocumented sales, period. anywhere.Too many guns on the streets is part of the problem. How would you handle implementing severe restrictions on carrying?
On 1, yes.well, first i would make it a federal law that there are no more person to person undocumented sales, period. anywhere.
then, make it a federal law that you MUST have a license to carry, concealed or otherwise, superseding state "constitutional carry" laws.
i'd pass a law that says if you don't report the theft of a weapon within 48 hours, you are liable for any crimes committed with that weapon.
i'd make the wait at least two weeks, or as long as it takes to thoroughly check someone looking to buy a handgun, and give those performing the checks no leeway, these questions MUST be answered, and you have to document where you got the information from.
i'd say those 4 measures would be a good place to start...
I meant, in the scheme of things, their design is primarily to kill another person, but yes they can be an enjoyable pastime.I use mine for shooting targets
3 i was going to say 24 hours, gave them 48, any more than that and they could use it to get away with selling a weapon, then acting surprised that it was gone...On 1, yes.
On 2, hmm, too much there for now .
On 3, I suggest “within 48 hours of finding out”
On 4, that has already been SOP in the states I’ve known for decades.
The disparity between state laws has always confused me. Some of our laws are too loose and some are too tight. I’d like to see a consensus standard applied.3 i was going to say 24 hours, gave them 48, any more than that and they could use it to get away with selling a weapon, then acting surprised that it was gone...
4 you can buy a gun from a gun shop here the same day if you pass the background check, they call it TICS, the Tennessee Instant Check System...
i would too, it's a lot easier to keep track of rules if there aren't 50 different sets of them. The disparity between state laws has always confused me. Some of our laws are too loose and some are too tight. I’d like to see a consensus standard applied.
That would be solved by it being a Federal deal correct? The disparity between state laws has always confused me. Some of our laws are too loose and some are too tight. I’d like to see a consensus standard applied.
The crowbar I keep hearing about is “states’ rights”.That would be solved by it being a Federal deal correct?
i would think so, federal laws usually trump state lawsThat would be solved by it being a Federal deal correct?
They're designed to dispense a projectile with a high degree of accuracyI meant, in the scheme of things, their design is primarily to kill another person, but yes they can be an enjoyable pastime.
and do a fine job on a side of boeufThey're designed to dispense a projectile with a high degree of accuracy
A sword is designed to kill another person
Where I live, coyotes roam.I can walk down Main street with my pearl-handled Colt in my gunfighter rig but I can't carry a sword
