Picking A Newbie LED

Looking for suggestions on my first LED to fill a 96x48x72 A-frame tent.
This is only my second tent (adding to my 4x4 setup) and I am in no way a super experienced grower.. Any tips on a good beginner LED board would be appreciated and suggestions if 1 will be enough or will I need to spring for 2..

Well I was trying to keep it around a couple hundred, but if 2 are needed I guess I'll have to open my wallet a little wider.. lol

A couple hundred wouldn't cover a single 4x4 in LED. BUT, you could get two 600 watt HPS for around $250. Look into the Alibaba lights for the cheapest LED options, but you're still probably looking at around $1,000. Up to twice that (or more) if you look at the higher end options. I paid around $550 for a Medic Grow Fold-8, which covers 4x4 beautifully.

Well shit, what's the deal with all the ones I'm seeing floating around amazon etcetera priced anywhere from $120 to $400?
Am I not looking at the right stuff?

And I honestly don't mind going the hps route again if need be.. They do the trick in the 4x4.. Was just hoping to upgrade if possible..

Would also take into consideration your climate I would much rather be paying extra running hps than paying to run heaters in my location it’s led summer hps winter just food for thought good luck op

This is a great point! Quite a few people run LED in the summer and HID in the winter just for the heat.

Don't trust anything the manufacturers say on Amazon. Read up on as many LED threads here as you can. Look up BK's Shit Show thread-he uses the Meiju (I think) lights from Alibaba, so you can see how great they work as a cheaper option. HID is by far the cheapest way to cover that space well. Good luck!

You see, it covers 2x2 in flower maybe :) you will need over 1k watts to cover that size. 2x 1000w hps or around 6x240watt LEDS. I bought 2x 240watt leds a couple of weeks ago, around 340euro delivered from china. Kingbrite is a reliable supplier on Aliexpress

30-35 actual watts per square foot is a common recommendation for decent LED.
