Depending on the space constraints and the light you're working with, you might want to train it out more.
Now I have 250w Metal Halide and for Flowering I have 400 HPS. Space is quite limited, around 15inches more and she would reach the lamp.Depending on the space constraints and the light you're working with, you might want to train it out more.
If you flip it to 12/12, it will start to flower as soon as it senses it is mature enough.
Tell us more about the space and lights.
That 400w HPS should give good coverage for a 3x3 canopy if you have a decent reflector. I would SCROG the plant out the make use of the full coverage of the light, but you'd be veging for 2 or 3 more weeks before you flip to 12/12.Now I have 250w Metal Halide and for Flowering I have 400 HPS. Thank You. Much appreciatedThat 400w HPS should give good coverage for a 3x3 canopy if you have a decent reflector. I would SCROG the plant out the make use of the full coverage of the light, but you'd be veging for 2 or 3 more weeks before you flip to 12/12.
If you flip it to flower now, it will quite probably stretch 15 inches or more in flower, so if thats all the head room you've got, you'll need to train it over some kind of way.
So right now the light is 15" away? Now I have 250w Metal Halide and for Flowering I have 400 HPS. Space is quite limited, around 15inches more and she would reach the lamp.
Oh no, I was actually wrong, it's 22 inchesSo right now the light is 15" away?
If so, you have virtually no room for any growth as a 400W HPS will cook anything that gets too close.
Thank You so much for guiding and helping out. So I am good to go now. 7-10" more inches for max growth until harvest? I shall flip her into flowering now? Should I LST her, bend the main stem?22" from plant to light before starting flowering ain't gonna work, particularly using an HID flamethrower..
It's been a long time since I've used an HPS but I'd guess 12-15" or so is as close as you'd want to get to a 400w HPS before damage, that leaves you a whopping 7-10" for further growth, stretch, and flowering.
Like bend it horizontally? I gave it a feel and tried a little bit to bend and stem is so super hard, I'm afraid if she doesn't break?Work the stem, then bend her over, then flip her.
The LST advice is valid but the insurmountable problem is the lack of height.Thank You so much for guiding and helping out. So I am good to go now. 7-10" more inches for max growth until harvest? I shall flip her into flowering now? Should I LST her, bend the main stem?
Thank You so muchI usually give some twist till it "pops" or snaps alternatively left then right bottom up. Watch a Kyle a kush man video, he calls it "Kushman Chiropractic", its an old technique. Then rub the stem gently whilst working the the stalk back and forth. Tie the base of the stalk to the side of pot, then bend the opposite way and tie down. Bill Ward has a video showing his way of doin it. If it breaks tape it up, leave it alone where the break is and keep goin. Not all techniques need to be applied to each application. The more experience you get the more wisdom you will acquire for "when" and "where" will be helpful. Might fug up, might not, but the experience and getting the " feel" of working plants pays in the long-term for all your gardening endeavors. Cannabis plants are very forgiving and giving plants. Make it a good time and don't trip, its gonna be great man. Hope this helps. TC
How about now?The LST advice is valid but the insurmountable problem is the lack of height.
I don't want to be the pessimist, but I don't see any way you'll have a successful harvest in that scenario with all the training in the world; you simply don't have nearly enough space.
Thank You. Yes, I can now, I made some readjustments and upgraded the grow space. Now I can go as high as 36" in height, just in case.Unless you can raise the light, all the training in the world will not help.
How much total height? 3 feet?
