Ac question please!

16A max. 80% of rated amperage. 18A is a fire waiting to happen

If you break it down, it’s not a constant 18 amps for a period of time. There are multiple items cycling on and off. With the max possible draw being 18 and again for a short period of time and only during the 12hr lights on. For the other twelve there’s next to no draw.

we agree. It’s not safe. It is a possible fire, but so is running HID’s

Flower room: autopiolet 4 light controller wired 240. My lights are not on the 20 amp.
My 20 amp with ac, dehumidifier and inline, and 2 wall fans will be at 1804 watts with everything running at once. This is what im trying to figure out if it safe. I do not think the ac will run constantly it will be in and off frequently I think though. Maybe 10 on 5 off with all lights on. I'm also replacing my 315 with a photobio mx to try to help with the heat.

no offense but if you are planning on growing for awhile, hire an electrician to run a few more circuits into your room. spend the $ and do it right the first time.

If I had more than 1 spot for another 20 I wouldn't stress on it just add 2. Because I only have 1 I just want to be sure I can run 1804 watts on the 20 I have. Prob only 30ft from box as well so it's not a terrible long run of wire.

just be careful whatever you do. even good ext cords can develop hot spots.

Oh I agree. I ment 30ft of 12/3 Romex to the box itself. I have a 315 on a 25ft 12g extention cord powering my veg space on a different circut I've never felt heat or even warm on cord. Eventually I'd like to have sub panel put in. Just can't have any electrition come in. My buddy will be doing a sub panel at some point. Just trying to squeeze by atm. Ac is not a concern most of the time just a few months a year. This is why I now need to figure if the 1804 watts is safe on my 20amp. A sub panel and a few 30amp breaker on 120 installed should be about 1300 or so having my buddy do it. His dad is a master electrician. When I can get the money together that's my plan.
