When to switch to flower

I am growing a single bubblegum in a 5 gallon pot and plan to scrog. The questions is when to switch to flower? Do I wait until scrog is completely full or do I switch when it gets to net and train for first two weeks in flower. Attached is current picture/height.

Easier to see with natural light, turn of the blurple.

I'd get the net partially full then switch, but you can add a second net up higher if she gets too big for the first net in flower. With just one plant you should have some room for a nice canopy. I try for 24-36 hours of dark at the flip. Blurples will work for flower but they're usually weak on watts. My friends 600 watt blurple draws 60 watts at the plug.

It's going to be tough to scrog with that net. Those squares are enormous. You want to fill up about 70% of the net before you flip them. You could probably lower the net and start to scrog instead of waiting for the plants to reach it. You really should get a new net though. That one would work for an upper scrog to keep the colas from falling over.

I forget what size mine are, but you also don't want them to be too small. I'm about to water and I'll measure mine. I'm pretty sure they are 7" squares.

Mine are 4”, but I wouldn’t mind if they were a little bigger. I would look into getting the stretchy kind too. I’m probably going to upgrade mine after this cycle.

Mine are 2” x 2” and I used hooks on a wooden frame so each one can be removed individually if needed. I can take the net down one at a time and put it back up in about 10 minutes. I used cotton butchers twine pulled tight, it is I fairly heavy and has just enough stretch you can move it if needed but will still stay in place. I’m still on the fence if I would have preferred 3”x3” spacing but it seems to be working well for now. Off the subject, but I also gave the girls a nice tiki room to grow in so they feel at home in a tropical environment.

If your light has two switches they both should be on for the entire grow.

I've used 2" squares before, but I found it made harvesting a lot more work and I ended up snipping a bunch of the strings. But if it works for you then that's cool. That's a really well built frame.

Thanks for the suggestion on trellis size. I will get smaller net and fill 70% before flipping to flower.
