Little update:


As you can see, no greenhouse yet.. hoping to get to that project this weekend.
There are all kind of crawlies where they're sitting, so I have sprayed them with neem oil to help fight them off.


Canna x Cheese getting her groove on. I hit a gold mine with these seeds, they are fast, grow easy and produce delicious sweet perfume CBD rich flowers.


To my big surprise, the Fugue State is showing both sexes.

Here are the other 2 autos I had in the tent.
46 grams - Fast Buds
30 grams - Canna x Cheese

Edit: All 4 have pistils as of today, they are just over 3 weeks old

Bummer about the Fugue State, what are your plans for that one? I read where people just knocked off the boy parts before they matured and kept an eye on the plant through the grow to see if any more formed.

I'll wait a little longer to be 100% sure they're balls and pluck them off, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over trashing her, if it comes to that

I'll let you know, just keep in mind that I didn't grow her in ideal conditions and it was the most rootbound plant I've ever had. I usually save the soil, and I had a hard time breaking it up. The drying didn't go as planned either, due to dehumidifier failing in the basement.
I've never had any J.Herer, is it supposed to have kind of a solvent/cleaner profile? Needs to be cured, but that's what I'm getting from the jars so far.

It's funny, how in our journey as growers and smokers there are influences along the way. I don't recall when someone first described Jack to me, or who it was even, I just remember the reverence. So when I finally got a clone to grow, it was like a sacred plant I was caring for. And when I gave the cured buds to my wife, who I grow for, I'm sure I spoke of it with the same awe. That probably influenced her opinion, but either way, it seems like everyone who's tried it has great things to say about it. In case I haven't mentioned it before, I don't smoke because I have bad lungs, so I only do edibles and I have never smoked Jack myself, but I like to keep mental notes on what other's think about various strains so I know what to grow next.

And I remember we were comparing our 'less than ideal' grows from the winter. My wife has tried and loved all of them. The Mango Smile (meph), Critical Orange Punch (dp), and Gelato (fb) all looked like hell by the time they finished, but in the end smell great and smoke really well. They are resilient little weeds.

The greenhouse looks nice from a distance, but it's a little wonky. I was able to finish it today and moved all my cannabis plants in.
The biggest benefit I see from having the greenhouse is that I can avoid the irregular watering from rain when plants are outside.
The plants do look nice and cozy in it though. I guess it was worth the effort

Is it your first time managing a greenhouse? They create an interesting micro-environment. Controlling the watering and keeping late season rain off the buds is a great thing.

It is, and most my plants are now in there. I just got back from being away for 3 days and something not very good happened in there.
I probably should've just left them outside since I wasn't going to be around to test the new environment first. Might have gotten too hot, although I left the only window it has, and the door wide open. It was baking that day, then got down to low 40s next day...

You're going to need an exhaust fan, probably across from the window you mentioned. Greenhouses can get really hot. My structure isn't even sealed, the sides are mostly bug screen, but it still gets 5-15º hotter than outside, and that's with fans going.

That's concerning and it would have to be a water proof set-up...

Greenhouses are awesome, but there is a lot to them. They can trap heat and humidity. But there are reasons commercial growers use them.

We have a historic heatwave coming and I'm working out ways to shade mine to filter between 50-70% of the sunlight, hoping the artificial shade limits the capacity for overheating. With the outside temps getting up to a predicted 112º, inside will be cooking. At some point I might have to go full opaque on the cover. This is a very unusual year for us.

Coming along, the flowering is well under way at this point. Fugue is the biggest plant among the autos, haven't seen any more male flowers so far.
Sweet Seeds is throwing some nice colors, its nice to see the strain is being true to its name - Red Pure

Sweet Seeds - nice deep colors developing on this one, stem rub also smells promising.


Fugue State - The biggest one out of 4, appears to be the healthiest one as well.

So far they have been getting water only (rainwater when I can) , except I top dressed EWC today.

I think it's been too humid in there with all the rain we've been getting. As if dealing with bugs wasn't enough bud rot is also setting in. I had to yank them out of there, and into the basement with QB 24/0. Taken 2 days ago, going to try to salvage what I can.
On the plus side, Sweet Seeds Pure Red CBD smells amazing. very metallic, reminded of Kali Mist by Delicious Seeds I grew once.

Greenhouses are tricky, I've never fully wrapped my brain around how you can control humidity inside when it's humid outside, short of fully closing it and running a dehumidifier in there. I seems like there is a way to make them work in almost any climate -- I feel like I've seen them in use all over the world -- I just don't know how they do it. That's part of why I went for a more open tall tunnel, but it totally has it's own issues and limitations... and obviously benefits also. I won't know until the end of the season if it was worth it.

The problem with the greenhouse I have is that, besides a small window and the door itself, its enclosed. It does have holes and gaps but not enough to get a good air movement. I might cut one of the panels out and install a fan or something, down the road. I only have couple photoperiod plants in there now, which are not flowering at all so no worries there (yet).

Air movement is critical, and systems that can be opened and closed are best (as I understand it). If you can put the fans on to cool the space using (hopefully) dry outside air during the warmest time of day and then trap that dry air in overnight, that might be as good as it gets. If it's raining all the time, I'm not sure what the solution is.

Makes me wish I had a basement to grow in, sounds like a nice stable environment. Outdoors is sort of a big risk/big reward situation, my healthiest and by a long shot biggest plants have all been outdoors, mostly when I plant them in the ground, but even in pots. If the weather cooperates and the location is not bug infested, it can be the easiest place to grow. But not every place has the right elements.

I'm pretty lucky, while I only get 7 hours of direct sunlight at best (mid-June/early July), I have mostly sunny days July and August to work with. Growing outdoors requires strategies and luck, and adding a structure creates the possibility of a space we can have more control of, but adds exponentially to the managing part. After this crop is finished I'm going to work on making my tunnel more flexible, "convertible" as they say. I've still got a lot to learn about this style of growing.

Hey everyone, been a while. After bringing the plants indoor, under 135 watt HLG which I left on 24/7, three of four ladies are down.

Sweet Seeds just got jarred, and Canna Cheese and Fugue State are hanging upside down. I'll post some pics once dried and trimmed.
As expected, the yield suffered greatly, but terps seem to be present. I was going to let Fugue go longer but I discovered something yesterday that made me chop it. I've never seen this before on my plants, so not sure what it is.


Dead smack in the middle of the main stalk ( yeah, that little thing is a main stalk ).

Dutch Passion is the only one still going, and is a healthier plant than any of the other three were. Smallest one of them, might yield the most.
