vac seal in jar

cool to introduce the idea of inert gases to preserve weed. That is really a neat idea , very interesting

I think the op was talking about putting the jarred weed under a vacuum in a jar, which these things seem to do? With the proper vac sealer

I don't know what effect it has on storage or anything on that matter. I wonder if a digital microscope would help find out
Yup that's what I did and I shared my experience earlier. Apparently OP wasn't interested.

I'm still thinking on this ;)

Once you placed the jar (with a loose lid) in a vacuum chamber and drew vacuum, I'm not sure if you could get to the lid to tighten it before air rushed back into the jar. But, theoretically the vacuum in the jar would seal the lid somewhat.

A bit out of left field but perhaps something like this would be adequate ?

Cheers.
yea the idea is the lid pulls up while under vac then when released the lid should seal down on the jar keepin the full vac in the jar.

ya im looking at full vacuum i have those already and they are alright but again looking for full vacuum
My concern on using a refrigeration pump and pulling it all the way down would be that mason jars can be fragile
I have actually had them shatter just setting them down on the counter
No clue if buds will be modified cause I never tried although I have had a pump for decades

yea its one of my concerns of it imploding because of the negative pressure
mind you im using large size jars and not off brands... bernardin mason jars

$20, works with Mason Jars. There are several brands out there, if you've already got a vac sealer, this one was compatible with my Nesco sealer and several other brands. Worked great until I switched to gallon jars and it no longer fit.

thanks but again im looking at full vacuum with a 2 stage vac pump in a chamber. those small pumps cant come close to that pressure

If you can't get the answer you're looking for.......do it. Then report back.
ya im getting there. just throwin out the feelers still.
theres a few scenarios ive thought of that dont end well for me lol
eg glass shatters and gets all in the buds
glass shatters and gets into vac. :(
glass shatters i get pissed off and whip the chamber and then it breaks too and im even more pissed. haha

A Mason jar won't implode unless there's an imperfection. Check the jar well, don't put anything into it. Put the jar inside a cardboard box so you won't get glass everywhere if it implodes. Then seal it. If it works great, add pot and reseal.

personally I find oven bags(turkey bags) best to store weed, I pack 1/2-1 lb per bag squash air out by hand ,twist /tie top off and place in bucket with air tight lid and leave in corner of shed- works well

If it's mason jars you can just set them in hot tap water for 5 min then screw on the seals and lids tight and the vacuum that forms when they cool will seal it up fine. Doesn't have to be boiling hot water like when you use a canner. just use a new seal with each jar. Your pot must be worth that much. :)

:peace:
