Hey guys, quick question the plant has been on the following light cycles.

First 30 days - 24hrs (Cheap ebay light with 30 actual watts drawn from the wall)

The last 15-17 days - 18/6 (Spider Farmer SF1000)

Should I switch from 18/6 to 20/4 or leave it as is?

I'm aware that 20/4 should be better since it's an auto but a second opinion wouldn't hurt.

Thanks in advance.

Leave as is. The two extra hours won't give you any noticeable gains, but could cause issues. Try 20/4 on your next grow if you want to try it.

I've grown some huge autos on 18/6, if you're looking to increase the size of your plants work on other things that will affect them.

Just what I was thinking, I will leave it as is and do so from the next grow.

Id rather just play it safe and keep it as is, don't need to introduce any further variables.

My main concern for the time being is the slow release nutes in the soil.... i tried to remove as many as I could by hand but couldn't get them all.

Im slowly introducing some bloom nutes with a quarter of the recommended dose on the bottle and double the wait time between feeding.

Thanks for your feedback.

Here is a little update on how she's doing.

So far I've fed once with bloom nutes at a quarter of the recommended dose.

Lil update.....

I most likely over watered today as the leaves have drooped down on me and have not bounced back a few hours after as normal.

Since I'm using regular slow release miracle grow slow release garden soil (Literally 0 perlite....) this is easily a common issue i have been facing.

I've already stockpiled perlite for my next grow and I'm definitely staying far far away from any slow release amended soils such as miracle grow.

Back to the overwatered situation, I have placed a dehumidifier in the tent and i have also poked a few holes through the soil to try get some air to the roots/dry it our quicker.

Hopefully she bounces back sooner than later.

:wall: This is what I'm using.....miracle-gro-all-purpose_premium_web.jpeg

After a few hours of the dehumidifier going she seems to have recovered pretty well, I will leave 2-3 days before I water again to make sure its dry further below.

Here's a few pics to show some progress :)

Little update....

She's started to droop on me again for some reason does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure since she swapped to flower she's been more thirsty.

I'm doing the "first knuckle" technique to see if it needs water or not and so far it's still moist.

She's recovered once again and I'm going to start feeding bloom nutes every other watering at 1/2 the recommended dosage.

What was weird is that the droop occurred after watering, I'm aware that this is common and they normally bounce back after a few hrs.

Even when I checked with the "knuckle" & weight methods the pot was very light and felt like it needed water, so I did.

I think the most likely cause for the excessive droop after watering is caused because of the lack of perlite in my soil so I need to be careful to not over saturate the soil to allow for better airflow (since it basically lacks any kind of proper airflow)

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

She's started to flower properly now.

I've been feeding every other watering as recommended by my bottled nutes at half the dosage.

What do you guys think?

First time grower here so please excuse the excessive posting, I don't want to trigger anyone, I'm just curious :)

Looking nice. It's fun to watch the plants start filling in at this point. Always interesting to see what kind of colas each strain forms.

Thanks man appreciate the feedback, yeah I've been checking on it like 10 times a day ever since the flowering process began :P

I've always been fascinated by some properly grown stuff the look and smell is like no other.

I cant wait to see the final result, hopefully its well worth the wait... definitely worth the extra $$ saved in my wallet for sure

Where I live the avg price for some nice stuff is like 20-25 a G......

A little update.

Seems to be moving along fine so far.

Been watering with 1L every two days or so (it's a drinker for sure :P )

Calmag arrived the other day, I haven't used it just yet as I don't really see a need for it for the time being.

Trichs have just barely started now and they already smell great :)

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if I'm underwatering, I'm not seeing any major signs of underwatering but the plant seems to drink around 1L per day.

Since I'm in soil I let it go an extra day to make sure the soil isn't wet towards the lower portion of the pot.

The reason I'm suspecting possible underwatering is because the flower growth seems rather slow compared to others I've seen on here.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Underwatering would be when the plants are left completely dry. The leaves will start to sag until they are watered again.

Each strain and environment conditions will result in different growth rates. Your plant looks healthy and will flower in its own time. Don't be impatient and just let it do its own thing.

Yeah true that, agreed on all that you mentioned.

Patience is a virtue XD first grow tendencies I suppose...

Thanks for the reply & happy growing :hump:

Hey guys... I'm a little late for an update.

Here is how it's going. For some reason I haven't seen much change over the last 9 days, it had finished it's stretch so I wasn't expecting any further growth, but the buds don't seem to have changed much I don't know if should be concerned or not.

Is it normal? or should I be looking for some specific things?

It's also started to produce its first trichs :)

Any feedback is appreciated as always.

Hey guys, the buds are starting to swell up pretty well now. About to start week 11

What do you guys think, where is it at? I don't have a proper microscope at the moment its on the way as I had to order it from abroad.

The best I can do for now is a lens from a vr headset... I can see a few amber trichs on the sugar leaves however I'm aware that the trichs degrade quicker on the sugar leaves rather than the bud itself so I'm not to sure.

It's still drinking around a 1L per day.

Its smelling great that's for sure hahaha.

As always any feedback is greatly appreciated.
