First Ever Grow - Power Plant Auto By Dutch Passion

Hey guys,

New here and this is my first post so please take it easy on me

Seed - Auto Power Plant freebie from Dutch Passion.

Soil - Miracle Grow Slow Release (I removed as many of the slow release pellets manually when potting) This is all that was available at the time. I've heard many mixed reactions about miracle grow but hey its all that was available so I had no choice....

Water - PH 6.5 - 7

Temps/Humidity - 26c/30c 40%-60%

Light - SF1000 @ 100% Around 18" above the plant 18/6 cycle

Tent - 2x2x6

Time - Day 45

If there is anything else you guys would like to know please let me know, I'm eager to learn and improve as time goes on.

Turn down your light intensity. I would have it 18" aways when first start seedling about 25 percent as the grow you got to 50-75% and your last few weeks 3-4 weeks of flower then your light should be 100 percent!

Looking good so far...at 45 days you're fine with leaving the light at 100%. It is transitionig to flower right now so it needs everything that little light has. Can also tuck some of those larger fan leaves down that are blocking bud sites. What are you planning on feeding it?

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. At the moment I have only given the plant water with a ph between 6.5 and 7. I didn't manage to remove all the slow release pellets so the plant has been feeding off of those for the time being. I have been tucking the leaves but they keep coming up to the light and hadn't made any adjustments before taking some of the pictures I plan to use water soluble bloom fertilizer soon, as stated by yourself the plant is beginning its flowering cycle and I would like to slowly introduce the bloom fertilizer. The one I plan to use use has a NPK ratio of 4-10-11(CIEMHUS Grow Blooming). The recommendation on the bottle is to feed with every other watering.

Just keep tucking and try to even it out before it really starts stretching. Take it easy with those bottled nutes and look into if following the directions on the label in regards to srength is the best choice.... especially since you will have to deal with all slow release shit already in your soil. Could throw your ratios all out of whack and cause you lockout problems.

Yeah I'm fully aware of possibly running into lockout issues, I have not fed yet and I do not plan to do so just yet as the plant has not shown me any particular deficiencies as of yet. I will always be on the lookout for any potential nutrient issues and deal with them as best as I can at the time. I would also start by using half or even a quarter of the recommended doses on the bottle just to play it a bit safer. I will keep tucking the leaves daily

i would feed her something because by the time you notice deficiencies it is hard to correct them in soil the miracle grow should help but you need bloom nutes and cal mag

Yeah, over the next week or so I'm definitely going to start feeding some bloom nutes since it just flipped to flower, however ill take it very easy for the time being as mentioned previously ill use around half the suggested amount if not less, just to be on the safe side because of the slow release nutes in the soil already. I cant find cal-mag locally so if there are any other alternatives I'm open to suggestions. If there is no other organic way to introduce cal-mag ill have to order it online. Just ordered some biobizz calmag and a co2 bag. Should be here by next week. Does the calmag come with a feeding schedule or would I need to look else where? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Little update, I'm thinking of switching from bottled water to regular tap water. After a TDS/PH test I've found it to be 850ppm and with a ph of 8.0+

I can get the ph down without a problem, I'm mostly concerned about the high ppm reading. I plan to leave a bucket overnight before I plan to use it.

I will check the ppm/ph once again before use. Is this recommended or should I just stick to my normal bottled water (50ppm)

I will also be looking into getting an air pump and air stone to get the chlorine evaporated faster, plus it would come in handy should I ever need to make a tea or try some dwc stuff..

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

All bottled water is not equal. Not even all the spring waters are the same and they can range in pH from 4-10.

Many people use tap....seems to be good enough for house plants, bushes, trees and lawns...

Plenty use RO, distilled, well, rain...

Yeah agreed on the bottled water, I found a brand that was pretty even across the board but as mentioned it still varies.

I used to have RO but the filters got gummed up and took out the pump... ffs

I'll settle for tap water for the time being and see how it goes.

Double check you tap ppm. I wouldn't even drink that water if it's 850 ppm. Definitely don't feed your plants with that.

Yeah our tap water is desalinated sea water that then gets chlorinated and gets lime added back to it for minerals.

The ppm is super high from what I've been seeing, however all the other plants around the house seem to like it.

I just don't want to have come so far and ruin it by giving it shitty water

I don't know why folks not running hydro just don't run a dirt cheap replaceable pre filter, hi flow, 25 micron (with DE), probably get it under 100 ppm for $16, replace every grow.

Just filtered by carbon pellets (90micron), diatomaceous earth coating (25micron), and polymer binder.
It's actually a standard stage 1 filter for many RO systems, just packaged differently.

Be prepared for a long flower. A guy on YouTube took one of these to 18 weeks and pulled 2.2 P. Should be

This is something ill gladly look into, I have no idea where to find these locally but I will do some more research into it.
