Mars TS1000 too close?

I got my first grow light but I'm worried of burning my plants because it's too close. My space is limited, it's a closet. I took some reading from an iphone app (Korona) and it showed 350 ppfd with maxed dimmer at the canopy which is pretty far from the advertised 700 at 18", but then again I have not calibrated the app or maybe it's just a bs app. Also 23000k lux which seems to be what the manufacturer said.

I measured with the measure app on iphone between 35 to 40cm from the light to canopy.

I fixed it, I needed a light diffuser to get the correct readings. I'm worried it's too high.

For veg you can crank it to 100% and keep it 18-20" up and see how your plant responds and adjust accordingly. Dimmer in this instance would not really be needed at this stage of your growth.

• Germination: 24"-30"
• Seeding: 24"
• Veg: 18"-24"
• Bloom: 12"-18

I'd take the loops from the wire hangers clipped to the light, and clip them directly to what you are hanging from to get more distance from the light.

Shit, I see the problem now...I just dealt with this myself in my veg tent.

Take carabiner off ratchet strap. Take the thin cable loop and snap it to the little carabiner, then snap the carabiner to the shelf wire itself. That should give you another few inches.
If you need more height, push the carabiner through the wires and snap it to one of the wires further away drawing the light up a little further.

I'm finding my photos are liking the mh ts1000 very close...one rocbud plat city runtz is 8" from light, a second is 12" ...no problem...firms up nugs very well after spending mid flower time under cobs....ventilate and let'r rock.

Good to know...I got one 18in above three that just flipped to 12/12

Thanks for the replies, great ideas I can make much better use of my tiny space now. I'm at the flush stage now, my flowers are small but still usable I think. Made tons of beginner mistakes, but I learned a lot and way more ready for the next grow in 2 weeks.
