Elevating you pots definitely helps. I just went through this in a different thread a few days ago. It's not necessary depending on your setup. I'm going every other day in flower and they're thriving. But I'm addressing tiny plants here. There's no need to water them if the pots are heavy. The nutrients don't go bad overnight.

But the main root system will be staying dry for the first couple of inches so that will need watered

That can be said about anything. The pots in his picture are huge compared to his plants.

Not really, I could overwater a seedling in a solo cup that’s in soil but, if I were in that same solo cup with Coco, it would literally almost be impossible. The only time you could have a problem is if your using used coco.

Coco is hydro. If your roots are wet then they have access to the nutrients. If the plant is feeding heavy, which his surely aren't, then you'll get an imbalance. it will also suck up the water and dry out the coco.

When coco dries the nutes create salt deposits so I don't let coco dry out. If your pots are still heavy than it will just take less to get runoff. Better to water twice as often than to let it dry IMO. That's what works for me anyway.

I agree with this and I'm not saying let them dry out at all. There's a wide margin between fully saturated and underwatered. You're just wasting nutrients, in my opinion. What are you flushing out exactly? How much do you think those little plants are consuming?

You don’t have to water to run off every time just as long as you do so once a day

You are flushing out deposits in the coco, that's why it's called drain to waste. The runoff is important. I don't feel I waste nutes at all. If the pots are still moist it takes much less to get runoff so I don't see the waste. Water 1 liter now while moist or 2 liters when dryer. Now if any section of the coco got dry while waiting salt buildups will form. Personally a few dollars in nutes through my grow is my smallest concern so even if there is some waste it's no big deal. But hey, you do your thing man, if it works for you than cool.

Honestly when I was a new grower I loved watching these threads. People spout so much info out of passion and then post pics. As a new guy I look at the plants and say “I want mine to look like his. AND what he’s saying makes sense”

Again, how much imbalance do you think a tiny plant is causing by its consumption?
