I'm a little too chicken to retire in Mexico, but there are some beautiful places, nice people and awesome food. I could do Spain/Portugal though. I want that Schengen residency.

I have a few associates there and as long as you don’t get stupid and make friends with the right people it’s very safe but yes I’ve thought about Portugal (Azores) for fishing too. I’ve got 5 years to decide so not rushed. And a lot could change. I would actually like south Florida but that’s not happening due to an unfortunate border incident .

Actually I know a few ex-pats in PV and they’ve never had an issue. The people there that I’ve met are great but yes with every foreign country you need to be vigilant and smart. The fishing village I stay at is extremely safe, the cartel doesn’t want any shit going down to attract attention lol.

I disagree. But you would have to actually watch the hearings and read testimony over at least the last decade to see the clear difference in the seriousness of the Democrats vs the Republicans.

Seriousness is a good thing and something we've been lacking, but it's ancillary to the core issues of honesty, integrity, etc. We as a nation are falling short in this category, yes, some more than others, but neither group are above the neutral line and into the "good" category. The two groups are below that bar, again yes, one much further down. Dems are only "good" if we're norm-referenced grading.
