Autoflowers on 12/12 make bigger buds?

So I ran into a guy at a get together recently who "seemed" pretty knowledgeable about growing cannibis. He said I need to switch my autos from 20/4 to 12/12 to make them grow bigger buds. He says buds are made during dark hours and vegetative growth is done during the day. Idk man, I did put them down to 18/6 but I'm not sure if this is just his opinion or he's trying to 'stunt' like he's God all knowing when it come to cannibis cultivation (that's honestly what it seemed liked) what do y'all think??

Buds aren’t made during dark hours, and if you were giving too much light 20/4 and cut it to 12/12 and see a gain then that would make sense. Get the same results dimming the light and leave on 20/4

I don't think so, mephisto recommends 24/7. Not that they know everything but have probably grown more autos than your friend ever will.

He is wrong or as some people like to refer to as full of shit. Please do yourself a favor and ignore him. Many people "seem" knowledgeable but since he is wrong I would not want to trust that knowledge. Just because someone knows a ton of things does not make what they know right. Yes, plants grow at night but they need the process of photosynthesis which happens in the day. Stick with 18/6 or 20/4.

ok there i just unplugged all my lights and threw them in the garbage. my hydro bill should be alot cheaper now. i think theyre already growing but i cant see its too dark

What size is your tent? You might not have enough dark to cover that space.

Well shit pull them out, what lights are they? If they are going cheap I may buy them. I am old school, I still use light.

ill keep them i just took the bulbs out and plugged them in and they are making dark perfectly

5x5? Gonna need a pretty big dark. Maybe even two. I’d have to run that through a darkness calculator to be sure.

How about 24/0. Keep it dark around the clock. Biggest buds you will have ever not seen.

The normal recommendation is about 35-50 snemul per sq.ft. of space you are trying to cover with darkness.

For that size space you should harvest about -1 pound.
