I don't get the offensive nature of the conversation. You do or don't. I don't expect to convert you. And I'm not fixing what ain't broke. And I welcome all points of view. More to consider.

TY all.
Pretty much this... I'm doing what I want with MY plants and that's all that matters. You do you. I do find it ridiculous someone claiming defoliation cuts your yields in half though.

That's just giving out false information.

I respect @Zephyrs. Just not his thing. And covid cabin fever is getting the best of us all. And are you a morning person. I'm not. LOL.

Day is young. Start happy.

That is very interesting thank you for the information.
I figured as long as his grow is done he’s safe from getting mold on his buds with the bleach, but your totally right it could spread through the whole house
I
You guys have to start learning that buds, even lower ones.
Do not require direct light to develop and grow!

Direct light exposure DOES help ripen the buds.

To that end. Simply harvest the tops and the "done" product and leave the remaining buds in bloom, under the light for 2 more weeks.

You'll also find that the quality of the buzz is better on the second harvest. Rather intense really.
I have regular patients that only buy the late harvest....
I always do that to outdoor,Ive had better second cuttings than the first actually!!!

I've been dicking around with defoliating for about a year, been growing for 11 years. I'm stopping defoliating now. I'm totally convinced it slows the plants down. In fact I have had plants run nearly a month longer than their clones. Their clones nearly caught them up in flowering. For me just get a hurricane fan on the floor, set it on a timer so on comes on for like 15 minutes and hour or so. I'm leaving it all on now.

This is the last plant that I have defoliated in flowering.

Defoliating in veg though, FUCK YEAH!

Got to create those tops. Here is my single lemon skunk plant on day 32 of 12/12. I will always defoliate in veg, for me veg is where the yield is achieved, but now I'm going heavy then, but gining it like 7-10 days to recover. Top the shit out of it then too..

Flowering, NO WAY am I defoliating in flowering again, as long as my ass points downwards I'm leaving those leaves on from now.

There are enough leaves for this plant to do great, but plants prior to this I ended up running for ages. I defoliated the piss out of sweet seeds cream mandarin fast version. Supposed to be 42-49 days flower. It went 100 days of 12/12 becuase I just halted the whole fucking grow. I'm sold on leaving those leaves on! :weed:
That’s exactly right!!! she looks great!!!

@Zephyrs can't wait to not defoliate this next time and double my yield. I appreciate the tip.

This is what I'm talking about.
Thats some crazy nugs, on a well defoliated plant.

Thank You! Your right on that point. I already hit the unwatch button. Simply because defoliation is nothing to get upset or stressed about. Each to their own method.
I look forward to my side by side tests. We will see how yields compare

Another autoflower just pumping out leaves.
Jeesh that thing is sqautttt
Defoliation can be a traing technique
But sometimes, it necessary. Like here.
Or my 4x4 i posted above. It was literally dark below my canopy there was so little light penatration.
With a 800 cfm exhaust, 450cfm intake, two dehumidifiers, I was still struggling to keep the RH below 65
Plus, all the fans in the world can't blow through 30" canopy haha

I want to know how you can say that. I must be misunderstanding.
Because every grow I've ever seen, has the giant nugs at the top, closest to the light, and anything that doesn't get good PPFD is a tiny piece of fluff at the end. Even if you harvest twice, they may ripen, but its still fluff.
Then you haven't seen it done RIGHT.

Buds sites do NOT need DIRECT light to grow...

Nor do I leave the lower "basically" useless branching.

As far as the mains being bigger? That's how dicot plants work. I lolly and in doing so carry the trimming up the branch's a bit too. Some of these are smaller buds but NOT an untrimmed plant popcorn. Imagine a cone shape from the bottom up. Lollypop like that, and don't forget to remove the bottom 3-4 branch's.

BTW. If you trim away EVERYTHING BUT the mains. I'll bet I can create some of the biggest buds you've ever seen.
There's a trick to it and I've only seen one guy on here do it RIGHT and post pics of it.. Now I have seen non posted pic's by another "OLD" school guy do it, RIGHT. He caught all sorts of guff and trolling for it. The man is a true legend in the growing world. Go look as some pictures in Jorge's grow bible. Now look at the credits for those picture's.....

Too much plant in the "dead zone" below the upper screen line.... At least for me it would be.

What was your opinion of the second chop buds compared to the first? Any difference?
Everyone I know swears there is a big noticeable difference.... Everyone from my age and ability group..

Did you know that we have known for years that lower buds will actually test out higher in Cannabinoids?
Bet not. Nobody talks about that. Well, Uncle Bill did. Right here, just like I'm doing now..
He was trolled for days on the same things I'm telling you now...

I've been harvesting my plants whole to dry. I might consider taking just the tops one time to give it a shot, and let those lowers go for longer.

If you open up the canopy with defoliation, that bottom growth gets much more fat and dense.
Cannabis produces larger buds, the more light it gets. And it does not do a good job transporting that energy to lower branches. No way to argue that.

How about you look up threads by Uncle Ben on this subject!
Try the LIGHT thread by either Ben or Riddle....

Ben's work

Riddle's

If you added all the years the three of us have been growing cannabis.......You would have over 130+ years of experience between us...

All I'm trying to do here is teach something.
