Run off ppm 3500

Hi,

I just got a new EC meter.
I tested tap water after mix with nutrition and ph down, gave me 1250 ppm.


I tested the runoff - 3500 PPM??



I have an issue so this is the reason I got the meter for the first time...

Is runoff is a good indicator or should I test soil itself mixed with pure water? I did that also, it gave me 900 & 600...

if you use mineral fertilizer, yes runoff is a good indication

in your case you have salt accumulations in your medium

in this case you must give a few big runoffs on the next feed to rinse the medium/ or feed lighter to counteract this salt accumulation

bring the ec inside the medium under 2000ppm

I'm assuming you mean TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). Typically, pH is measured between 1-9/10. Standard desired pH is 6.0-7.0 for most cannabis.

My meter give me in ppm units.

Yeah, multifunction meters can throw you off. I always measure EC after pH and forget to hit 'shift...,' brown my shorts and then laugh.
