FFOF is hot stuff I'd be mixing 25% perlite to that mix

more so if you intend to feed your own nutes later

Was that a feminized seed ? And I guess it depends on how long you wanna veg for I don’t top unless I’m running out of room but I like fimming better

Yes topping will gain you more bud sites and allow for better light penetration
lower into the plant structure, but some people don't like topping,, it is all what
works best for the grower...

I topped my plant 2 times total. First time at the 4th node, second time after the top grew 2 new nodes. That and about 4 extra weeks of veg and I got this. If you train your plant right, you would only need to top once. My tent is a 4x4 and it filled the whole tent. Could have had a 3.5 inch trellis instead of a 6 inch for more tops. But meh, still got over a pound on one plant

If you want to mainline, you can let grow to 5 or 6 then top at 3rd, but it really depends on how you want to shape your plant and how many bud sites you want. In general, topping a bigger plant will slow down growth less than topping a small plant, but it doesn't really matter much if veg time isn't a concern.
