1st attempt at a mainline

Hi, what’s your mainlining time frame? Like when do you do the first main stem topping, and then when do you do the side stem toppings - approx how many weeks/days?

All plants grow at different rates depends on medium environment etc.

I personally try to go by my own chart

First topping around day 21. Second topping within next 7 days. Then continue topping once a week until satisfied. These main 4 plants are photos. They're 45 days along and I topped them and did mainline when I could. Now 2-4wk more veg and flip. I want to FILL this 4x4.20201223_195409.jpg20201223_195430.jpg20201223_195446.jpg

Grow to sixth node and top at the 3rd node. Let those grow out 3 to 4 nodes and top. Do the previous step again. Then you will have toped a total of three different times. After each topping remove lower growth, unless topping early and needing lower growth to help the plant along. Then you will have 8 main tops. Let grow until you reach your flower flip height. Then remove lower 3rd of growth that will not make it to the top. If you Google there will be places with better examples and more info on it.

Anybody know how long it takes for trichomes to go from milky to amber? I'm guessing maybe just a few days. Here are some pics of the peyote critical. I checked them with the scope today. All are milky. I only seen maybe 4-5 amber trichomes. I'm shooting for 10-20% amber. It has also slowed on water intake. Went from watering everyday to watering every 3-4 days. Since watering has slowed, I've only been giving plain water.

The gelato looks like it still has some weeks left to go. Trichomes are all clear. Still taking a half gallon of water everyday.

Im pretty sure I was looking at them. I tried to not look at the leafs. But all I seen was milky white trichomes. I had the scope maxed out trying to see as deep as I could.
I check the leaves and the calyx. Once I have a majority of amber/cloudy and only a couple clear heads here and there and majority amber on calyx. I wait another week then chop lol

All of them hanging just like this. Have a cold front coming in and betting the humidity drops. So tried to leave some leaves to slow the dry.

The first pic is the peyote 2nd is the gelato. I will definitely continue to grow like this after trying. All buds were a good size. There was little to no popcorn buds. The peyote has a really strong smell and looks great. Can't wait to try them. I ended up with 135 grams on the peyote and 192 grams on the gelato.
