Automated Watering

Hello!
I need to automate my watering system for next run!
im going to start by just doing it with my 4x8 phenohunt tent and get the hang of it and dial in!
I run RemoNutrients supplemented with power.si
currently i shit pack 18 5 gal pots in there and its great but my schedule has been too busy.
(either i have to water and over water, or wait and they get it a bit too late)
Im whilling to change my nutrient lineup if i have to but like what im using.
can anyone lead me in the direction of someone to copy and learn from.
i dont like floraflex but will give them a shot if i have to but im leaning towards thebucketcompany.
i know theres alot of knowledgable people on here and id really appreciate if you dropped some knowledge
or sent me in the right direction thanks alot !

Do drain to waste if you are doing coco. Recirculation is mostly a gay nightmare.

Run 1/4 emitter tube with a T at the end so distribute to both sides of the pot. I never bothered with emitters, just bare ends.

Size your pump so it runs a few minutes for a full watering that way you can use a digital minute timer.

Put sub pump in reservoir (55 gallon drum good if your lazy) Attach vacuum break, set timer to run for a minute twice a day etc.

Dump runoff by hand once or twice a week.

Drain to waste avoids a lot of problems.

I've thought about a irrigation system because hand watering is laborious.

Then I starting having reservoir maintenance flash backs.

So I hand water. Drain to waste. My biggest job is draining the drain tub under the plants. That I want to automate. Drain it to a honeysuckle bush outside by a flip of a switch or electronic float.

Cheap pump on a timer and a waste bucket twice as big as you think you need. Fire it up every so often whether it needs it or not. All you gotta do is prevent a flood. Lot of pumps will tolerate running dry for a couple minutes. If you can run downhill then all you really need to do is get a siphon started and let gravity do the rest.

Brother, I have a 45psi Shurflo pump mounted to a big cedar cutting board. I found the board. The board is screwed to the wall. Located by the door of the grow room. All I have is a plug. After sticking the suction hose in the drain tub. The other hose is stuck in a big ozarka water machine jug. 5 gallons. With it, is also a bucket. I fill both. Sorta. Not so much the bucket. 3/4 full.

I think my tub holds 8 gallons probably more. Its a long flat tub. The kind you use to store blankets or clothes under the bed. I have to empty it out every other day. ~ 8 gallons a time.

I wish I had the discharge hose running to the outside of the house. No more carrying water outside.

It's similar to others i use a mj1250 pump with a manifold and 5mm tubing to each pot with a X or T to split the flow over the pot, the run off is caught in trays then transfers to a jug for emptying.
It's cheap to make, very reliable being 5mm it's unlikely to clog and it's extremely adaptable.

You can put a 5mm tap inside the pot to adjust the flow if required.
The bucket the pump is in is re filled via a stop cock (smart valve) works just the same.

Luke... Luke... use the Force of gravity. 1/4" line through a window or a vent or a bullet hole in the wall depending on the neighborhood. Run a tiny pump for two minutes to get the siphon going, shut the pump off and let it drain via gravity. You can run a hell of a lot of water through 1/4 line given time.
