God i wish i wasnt such a failure.
If I can get autos to grow that well, I will have succeeded, that's my goal. I'm betting that's as good as it will get, and that's fine.
LMAO they are definitely my pictures. Been posting them for quite some time now.Uh Huh, who'd ya steal the pics from asshole?
Not good enough for me. That was a simple 5x5 1000w HPS grow. Started from seed in 5 gallon fabrics. If I can get autos to grow that well, I will have succeeded, that's my goal. I'm betting that's as good as it will get, and that's fine.
Since we're here... Those are FastBuds strains? What is the medium? What would you say the average weight of the plants was? five gallon is bigger than I can go in my space, but all info is useful. ThanksLMAO they are definitely my pictures. Been posting them for quite some time now.

This isn't too many plants for a 5x5? Shouldn't I be able to run half as many autos in a 4x4?LMAO they are definitely my pictures. Been posting them for quite some time now.

Yeah that grow was all fastbuds. The Gelato was the only one that came out pretty good. Medium is half roots organic, half M3, and a splash of perlite for flavor. 5 gallon pots. They just needed a couple top dressings of organic nutes during flower. They were pretty damn easy to grow but watering a dozen plants in a 5x5 is a bitch.Since we're here... Honestly it looks like they have gone back to the classics.... AK, Haze, Bubblegum, NL, Jack, Chem, Cheese, etc etc. Probably getting better stability that way. My strains all went right around 100 days maybe a bit more so, nothing fast about them. My last grow which was my first photo grow, I did one plant 12/12 from seed and it basically grew just like an auto and only took like a week or two longer at the most and it turned out as good or better than any auto ive grown. It was under 12/12 vs 20/4 so ultimately even though it took a bit longer, it still used less electric. I still have that top, i need to get a good picture of it. Takes up the better part of a quart jar.lately I'm seeing more good grows and reviews of them, makes me wonder if they aren't getting better at what they do
Should be able to fit 9 in a 4x4. It will be full, but thats what you want. This isn't too many plants for a 5x5? Shouldn't I be able to run half as many autos in a 4x4?
Interesting... so are you done with autos? My last grow which was my first photo grow, I did one plant 12/12 from seed and it basically grew just like an auto and only took like a week or two longer at the most and it turned out as good or better than any auto ive grown. yup. I might try them outdoor someday. Snows to early for photos to make it outdoors here.Interesting... so are you done with autos?
sounds like you gave them an honest try and they aren't what you need, that's the best way to find out. I hope you don't become a 'hater' and come back here just to give us a hard timeyup. I might try them outdoor someday. Snows to early for photos to make it outdoors here.
I'm not sure exactly what you read, but more than half if not 75% of Mephisto's strains are atleast F4 and up to F8 on some. The obly strains they sell at F1 are the Illuminautos. Freebies are F1 crosses and used to be more worked strains till they got shitty and only cared aboit getting money.I'm also trying to figure out the "characteristics" of the different major breeders. From the journals and grow reports I've been reading (mostly over at AFN) every single breeder has pheno variation. The difference seems to be that with the better breeders while plants may vary all of them will come out of good quality, and with the lessor breeders some phenos just don't shine.
Mephisto puts out a lot of F1 runs, but is totally open about it. And their seeds are hit or miss on availability. Dutch Passion is interesting, some people love them, but a lot of their strains seem to run over 100 days. And Fast Buds has a mixed reputation, but lately I'm seeing more good grows and reviews of them, makes me wonder if they aren't getting better at what they do?
I'm experimenting with making seeds, and planning for that shifts my focus on breeders. For instance, my first run I'm trying to make seeds with a Mephisto Double Grape, and after spraying the plant for a couple of weeks I did more research (too often I do things ass-backwards that way) and realized its an F1, and if I'm going to make F1 seeds I don't want to be doing that with F1 pollen (at least they are honest about it). No big deal, there are other experiments going on in this grow so I'll still learn from it. But feminizing plants and chucking pollen has considerations that are a different filter for picking breeders than plants that are just grown to be smoked.
These are just from the seeds I have on hand, but according to their 2019 catalogue (and I think that's their most current?), the following are released as F1's:I'm not sure exactly what you read, but more than half if not 75% of Mephisto's strains are atleast F4 and up to F8 on some. Im somewhat of a "hater" because so many people still tout autos as "best for beginners" and that they will be "seed to harvest in 60 days". Autos taught me bad habits. I wish i had just learned to grow photos from the get go but so many people raved about how much easier autos were that i got sucked in. Wasted money on seeds. Wasted money on equipment. Honestly, autos are more difficult than photos- photos do far better with extreme training and you can really fuck up in veg and still bring them back to life like nothing ever happened.... a current example.I hope you don't become a 'hater' and come back here just to give us a hard time
Forgotten Cookies was a FREE strain given during the 2019' Artisnals drop for 420. They made it again for limited Reserva drop. Double Grape is definitely F3 to F4 now. Started as an Illuminauto, was brought back as a Limited and is now(aside from how they work their openings) going to be a permanent strain. It gets further worked every new seed batch. Grapey Walter was AGAIN a Illuminauto brought back to a Limited drop. These a 4 of their over maybe 60 strains not counting freebies. You can not go by a fraction just because that's all you have. Again, they have 2 to 3x more strains worked as far as F4 than F1. Alao, no. Sky Stomper
Maybe they've taken them further since that was published? It was Double Grape that surprised me, for some reason I thought that was more established and I wanted to use it in some one-off crosses.
Edit: and it's my understanding that all of the Illuminautos are F1's, but that's their thing.
I appreciate that they let us know what gen they are. I didn't mean to imply I thought that was mostly what they sell. When they release F1's they are very up front about it, as they were when I bought those limited releases and I was fine with it, I just forgot that's what they were when I pulled the packs to grow them months later. I also have about a half dozen other strains from them that are F4-F7. That's good to know about the Double Grape, I just ordered some more, it'd be great if they were F3 or F4.Forgotten Cookies was a FREE strain given during the 2019' Artisnals drop for 420.
