how's the homeschooling going @Fogdog
Hey, rky, thanks for asking.

I'm so glad I took some classes this summer to get ready for my kid's travails with online learning. I'm not actually homeschooling. The local school district didn't open up this year and we are all struggling with getting enough from the online learning program. Last year keeping them on track with online learning was a total failure on my part. As in "You are supposed to be in your class right now why aren't you at the study table?, Why haven't you done your homework?, What is wrong with you?", followed by meltdowns. This year, at least we have stayed on speaking terms and I can vouch that my kids are keeping up with the curriculum. I'd count that as a success.

I'm not the nurturing type and not all that patient either. So, it's kind of rough on all of us. The societal mindset is that if a kid isn't learning, it's on them as in "Kids do well if they want to". This leads to frustration on both sides when the kid's attention wanders and they get bored or they encounter a difficult problem, which is why everything went off the rails last year. What I learned and am ham-handedly trying to follow is a shift in thinking about the problem. "Kids do well if they can". The key is to figure out what's blocking them and its my job to collaborate with the kids to remove the blocks. They are both in high school so there are issues that have nothing to do with school and there are successes when they solve a problem. One of them even wants to become a teacher. I guess they have seen how badly it can go when the teacher isn't up to the job.

Mostly, I have to be home to keep them from treating this as an extended vacation. I am concerned about their class. I think there will be a lot of kids for whom this time will be lost and they will have trouble keeping up later on.

I read a bit and picture of Lil Wayne with Trump and he is an idiot . I bet he wants some publicity because He got jealous of Ice Cube getting recognition . I was so disappointed with Ice Cube getting all political in stupid ways supporting Trump and then got even more upset when I read that Kamala Harris had tried to have a meeting with him like a month ago and he had no interest talking to her. Lil Wayne is a loser. I had more respect for Ice Cube but not now.
Will you feel the same about the 30% of black voters that polled support for Trump?

Trump and his foreign dictator buddies have been working overtime attacking our minority communities with their propaganda.

It makes sense when you spam people enough with false information about how Democrats murder babies and whatever else that person is personally very concerned about, that you will be able to brainwash a portion of them to support a proven liar (who is very bad for this nation) like Trump.

The polls are not accurate . You might want to educated yourself a bit about Polling. There was an excellent breakdown of how polls worked in past years from 2008 and 2016 in this mornings segment of Morning Joe. You can get the podcast and listen pretty much commercial free. I listen to it on Spotify. The crew on the show are very non bias about polls and use polling history to back up how inaccurate polling is and how many possible scenarios there can be! Where are you getting your 30% from?

There is some numbers out there that the sock puppet seem to be talking about.

I don't know how credible they are, because they seem to be in tabloids, but who knows, the Trump trolls have been targeting these communities hard with their black'cent accounts tricking them into thinking Trump is a good idea, so who knows.

you echo alot of my issues this year too. luckily ours is 3rd grade, not HS. and i decided to do "real" homeschooling with buying our own books, downloads, etc. our online options were bullshit IMO. and i really wanted to get away from common core. i taught her how to multiply the real way and were already done with grade 3 stuff. gonna move to grade 4 math in Dec.

i have a new foudn respect for teachers though! i can barely put up with one let along a roomful !!
good luck.

He got 5% of the black vote in 2016, about average from past elections going back decades.

lulz at the idea that Rush Limbaugh as a source of credible info.

The wordsmithing is just another propaganda trick. About 30% of black people have said they approve of Trump's handling of the presidency. Is that support? They say it is. But really folks, one gives support when they either donate or they vote. My bet is he'll get about 5% of the black vote, same as last time. The only poll that matters is an election poll.

Regarding the troll's stupid question, Lil Wayne has better access to information than the average black person. He really should know better than to support Trump. His endorsement has consequences that literally will kill people if Trump should win by the small number of voters Lil Wayne's endorsement might tip to Trump.

It was Rasmussen. 31% support and 46% approval.

I looked Rasmussen up . It only gets a C+ rating for collecting polling data and is REPUBLICAN leaning . I also found someone saying this,

“There are many ways to describe Rasmussen Reports. Terms such as propagandist, enabler, liar, charlatan, wingnut and xenophobe spring to mind ... Just don’t call Rasmussen Reports a pollster."

Support does not mean he will get their vote. He's going to get about 5% of the Black vote. That's about what Republican candidates for president have gotten for decades.

The only poll that matters is an election poll. Why do Republicans poll so badly with Black people?
