Trump's coronavirus outcome predictions

They don't want to release him, but Donald is desperate and doesn't like hospitals, he's a control freak. He is sick and if it wasn't for the special treatment he'd be on a ventilator now and we'd be on a death watch. He is obviously feeling better, the antiviral treatments are doing the job, but he is essentially a lab rat and no doctor in their right mind would let him out for a week at least, but Donald is president and calls the shots.

Not to worry Captain, he has covid, there is no other logical conclusion and it is fucking up Donald very badly, he is desperate to get back on the campaign trail, he's 15 points behind Joe now and that doesn't even include this latest fiasco, just post debate. Polls indicate he is getting no sympathy from the public, his own irresponsible actions brought it on. It is bringing covid front and center and Donald wanted to distract from that, this will hurt him further, I wouldn't be surprised to see his support go as low as 35%, the spell appears to be breaking for some.
Yep, I'm thinking the same thing. Trump leads through fear, not love and he can't menace anybody while in isolation in the hospital. So he has to get out and put his angry fat infected mug in people's faces and bully them.

As a national leader, he fell into the same trap leaders have been falling into since there were leaders. He confuses violence with power. The former is a means to coerce. The latter is available to leaders that are empowered by a group. Trump has never actually held power. For example, he was never empowered by the people of this country to do what he did in Portland this July. Because he abuses the power we've given him, we plan to remove him peacefully from the office of President in November. We are the power but until he leaves office, he has the ability to do much harm through violence. Trump has the means to take violent actions, as he has done in Portland. Or in countless other jurisdictions where ICE has been deployed to cause fear in Hispanic communities. Or in areas of the southeast, where white supremacists are still able to murder Black people without concern for the law. Or in cities where fascists have taken root in their police departments.

Trump is trying to take power through use of violence and just might succeed. As with ancient Rome's Praetorian Guard, who were used by Rome's Emperors to beat Rome's civilians into submission, our modern Praetorian Guard -- the Police and white supremacist groups like Proud Boys -- are agents of violence at the disposal of this Tyrant Trump. The tyrant is calling on them to beat the crowds into submission while he buys off the most wealthy with promises of even more wealth.

Right in the middle of his most audacious power play, he gets Covid-19 and is isolated from his fearful minions.

OK, so maybe this is overwrought and I don't believe all of it myself but it makes a good story. I also think it's partly true.

Here is an article that discusses parallels between Rome's Praetorian Guard and the US police:

He'll summon his far-right extremist base to storm congress before he concedes.
I don't doubt that he's planning to do this. Because conceding will be the worst thing he can imagine doing.

Which is why I want to see him concede on a national broadcast. I want it real bad.

If there is a landslide there should be an answer on election night, it's up to the networks and has been for awhile. Much of Donald's real power will evaporate overnight as his henchmen run for the hills, or the prosecutor's office. Government officials and other regular government folks are going to be running all decisions of a problematic nature past Joe. Donald doesn't know where the levers of power are, Joe's people have the phone numbers of the people pulling the actual levers of power, all are experienced people and have the confidence of those they are about to administer, they trust their word, if they say they will make them whole again, you would trust them and so would I.

see him concede or see him led out of the WH in shackles? both would be awesome. he won't concede i think.
I want to see him concede. I want him to do it under lights, totally made up like he usually does and I want to hear him congratulate Joe Biden for running a great campaign.

Then I want him to be led off in disgrace, alone, like Nixon. Because I think he'll negotiate a pardon. But I still want to see him concede.

This is why I have always figured our gun addiction is in our benefit. I didn't think about Russia/Trump being able to radicalize a portion of them, but I still don't think it is near enough to get too far into any revolution for Trump before enough of them get shot up that the rest slink back into their mom's basements and finally get back to yanking it releasing all that pent up aggression.

If these fucks hit the streets trying to keep Trump in power the FBI will be dragging them out of their mom's basement next year. I figure these cockroaches are gonna get stomped hard anyway, but if the try insurrection, they will be destroyed and anybody bankrolling them will be too.

Actually, no hidden levers here. Joe has the credibility and capital from working for the people of this country for more than 40 years. It's why his favorability ratings have held constant for months, even when Trump's and Putin's army of propaganda agents tried everything they could think of to tear him down.

Wealthy people of this country have the means of coercion within their own domains. They have the power of capital. They have patronage. As long as we have the ability to cast secret ballots, they won't have the power of the people of the US. We've never liked royals, aristocrats or their modern day equivalents. We've never liked them. Not even when we worked for them.

I turned Fox on, they at least said that Trump was getting the best care at Walter Reed as POTUS and that people at home won't get as good of care usually so they should still be careful. Then went back to crying about how the 'media' treated Trump. Got my monthly dose of their Dear Leader'ing for the month in about 40 seconds.

Nah.

Look at who is gathering the arsenals. They are the ones who like Trump's call for violence. Just look at the statistics. More than half the households of the US own no gun. Not one. Yet, there is at least one gun per person, man, woman, child, infant and fetus, more than 360 million of them in the US.

Most of the guns in the US are owned by a minority of people and they are not peaceful democratic types. Not the ones I've met. They are the modern day Praetorian Guard and seek personal advantage through supporting a tyrant.

All of these guns in the US. They are not for keeping this country free.

For example:

Man who drove into BLM protesters was amassing guns for civil unrest, prosecutors say

A man accused of driving his truck into a crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters in Pasadena, Calif., in May was turning his family’s vineyard into a training camp to prepare to engage in “civil disorders,” according to federal authorities.

Hung was first arrested by Pasadena police on May 31 on suspicion of attempted assault with a deadly weapon after he drove his Dodge Ram truck into a crowd of more than 100 people peacefully protesting racial injustice at an intersection in Old Town Pasadena.

The crowd quickly dispersed, and no injuries were reported.
While searching Hung’s car, Pasadena police found a loaded semiautomatic handgun, high-capacity magazines loaded with ammunition, a machete, a long metal pipe and a megaphone, according to an affidavit filed by FBI Special Agent Diamond Outlaw, along with the criminal complaint.

On the weekend of the alleged attack, Hung bragged about his efforts to assault protesters, according to the affidavit. He had also communicated to his associates about creating a “tactical training camp and firearms range at his family’s vineyard and his intent to use the firearms in preparation for civil disorders,” the court document said.

That guy was no freedom fighter. He was preparing to kill those who stand up against tyrants. You might say he was brainwashed by Russian agents. But I think he was an asshole from the start.

The levers are in the open, same as here, Donald is too stupid, lazy and ignorant to use the government phone directory! He is helpless alone in the office, not Joe, he is a professional and has experience in government. His administration will have many old hands with experience who know regular government people personally, he needs to hit the ground running and will.

Donald is making everybody nervous, even the regional oligarch's, everybody with a brain knows it's death, dystopia and probably an economic depression, as long as Donald is still around.

As soon as they group up like they will when they think they are all badass, they become easy targets.

I am not pretending like it can't get really ugly, but I put more faith into the actual street gangs taking care of their cities than I would these handful of brainwashed (regardless of if it was from Russians or their racist fathers) idiots actually being able to do much more than become targets themselves.

And that is what I would bet Trump wants. You can hear it in how he tried to sell the killer kid in Kenosha as 'going to get killed' after he killed a couple people playing Rambo on American streets.

Trump IS making everybody nervous. I believe he's making us nervous because he's threatening to take away our power to vote though violent actions. There is a cabal of wealthy capitalists who stand behind Trump. But they are also falling into the trap of failing to distinguish acquiescence from coerced people with empowerment by us. They can't win but they can really, really fuck things up. There are no levers of power in the US. Only misguided people who confuse acquiescence through coercion with power.

If we look at China's government, we see a government that is trying to maintain power through a massive police state that is controlled by an oligarchy. Every decade, the apparatus of the police state grows and the resentment of that state by the people of China grows too. It is not going to end well when it does. Same with Russia. Putin stay's in power through the use of (again) violent actions by his police and government agents. He's going to die and his police state will collapse in ruins. Ultimately, there is no power other than the people.
