First grow room, Exhaust questions

so im turning a small closet into a grow space
2'10" x 3'8"

6'9" at the highest point where the door is

Gonna hang panda film on the walls and put it on the floor and install a new bar or either move the existing one up higher to hang my light

But I have a question about my exhaust, would it be better to just wire an exhaust fan into the ceiling and pipe it out the roof? Or is there a better way?

Im going to be able to keep the door open at all times to have fresh air coming in as well

With that space a decent cfm ceiling would be great. And save room. I would suggest a rheostat or speed pot to adjust the speed. Easy enough and fairly cheap. No problem if you are comfortable installing electric. Just don't cut corners on wiring. SAFETY FIRST! best of luck.

if there is attic space above the ceiling, you could cut a 4 inch hole and put 4in ducting connected to exhaust fan and filter to blow smell and heat into the attic. The crack at the bottom of the door will allow air in with a slight negative pressure in the closet. you may have issues with light leaks through the door later on though.

Fan in ceiling and filter in attic on exhaust. All 4" standard. Inline will be a cluster in that space. a piece of Panda the length of the exterior wall and 6" taller than needed will stop light pollution. And a blanket or towel against the outside of the door if needed. Too many cobbled closets in my day.

That’s a good point. If one already has said inline setup, it would be easier to just knock a hole, run it through and if ease is what we’re going for, it might be worth the space, who knows?

Thanks for the input and ideas guys!

But now I have another question, would a 600w light be good for this space? 3.5ft by 3.5ft?

600actual watt should be about right. Watch heat and light burn is all. Might be best w 6' ceiling exhaust fan. Moderately quieter and more efficient. 4" sound terrible and are noisier.
