when to give up on my seeds

about 2 inches deep.

I tried putting them in a paper towel only 1 cracked. I soaked them in a water glass for 18 hours than a paper towel for 2 days.

Can I take them out the soil and try the paper towel method again? Do I have to soak them again? Thats if I didn't lose them in the soil.
2" is way too deep .. half an inch is plenty ... I use rapid rooter cubes these days myself, that way you can keep an eye on them but you never need to touch the seed again once the tap root emerges ... I've germed hundreds of seeds since I started using them ... one didn't sprout ... if I put the tray in a warm place I usually have seedlings in 3 days

I used to grow outside and I was taught 1/4" was deep enough. i could be wrong, but its always been a success pretty much. 2 inches sounds way too deep to me though.

Yea I may have sunk them as I pour water over them and that might be the case. Here is a picture, I know the humidity is high I live by the beach and i'm using a dehumidifier and doing my best to lower humidity; they were watered this morning as you can see the Rh level.
