The Trump traveling plague show claimed another victim

Herman Cain is receiving treatment for coronavirus at an Atlanta hospital

Cain, as a co-chair of Black Voices for Trump, was one of the surrogates at President Donald Trump's June 20 rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"We honestly have no idea where he contracted it. I realize people will speculate about the Tulsa rally, but Herman did a lot of traveling the past week, including to Arizona where cases are spiking. I don't think there's any way to trace this to the one specific contact that caused him to be infected. We'll never know," Dan Calabrese, who has been editor of HermanCain.com since 2012, said Thursday in a post on Cain's website.

Cain posted a photo of himself at the Tulsa rally, seated among other attendees without a facial covering.

Paris Dennard, pictured smiling right behind Cain in the picture on Cain's Twitter page from the rally, told CNN he has not been informed about Cain's positive diagnosis or his hospitalization.

Dennard, who is a Republican National Committee adviser for black media affairs, said he himself has not been tested for coronavirus since the Tulsa rally because he has "exhibited zero symptoms" and is regularly wearing a face covering.

Coming to South Australia?
Make your border crossing easier by completing the cross border pre-approval form at least 72 hours prior to your arrival.

I sat at home for 3 fucking months to throw the whole effort down the fucking toilet ..... but hey the beach is open and hamburgs available.......I guess some are winning :(.

I agree, we had 2 cases in NS pop up from air travel, tested, contact traced and isolated (we hope). Bars, indoor dining, social events and sports are all off the table until after the new year as far as I'm concerned. Mask wearing in public buildings and grocery stores should be mandatory too, if we do this we can wipe it out here until there is an effective deployed treatment or a vaccine. We could have an effective antibody or convalescent plasma treatment by fall, we will need them, this thing likes the cold and Canada will soon be like a meat packing plant.

I’m doubting there will be a vaccine anytime soon or any meaningful treatments so IMO the only way to stop this is to eliminate the transmission by using what we have, including masks, social distancing and serious contact tracing but that’s impossible when you have thousands mingling within inches. Sadly I’m losing any of the hope I had a month ago in containing this thing. Have they actually proven that the cold temps will have any effect or is that just more hypothesis?

“Don’t take our freedom away”!!!! Seems the mask has become a symbol of the right and the stupid for freedom and liberty. This is not just a States thing but a global phenomena. What a fucking misguided thing and how stupid are people really getting. No wonder this world is going to shit. Hopefully everyone is enjoying the fireworks displays that happened this week here and what’s coming on the 4th. Fuck the homeless we’ll just spend those thousands on bright loud lights ........ winning!!!!

Just going by the experience of meat packing plants world wide, they recently had one in Germany. It survives longer in air and on surfaces in cold temps, less so with higher temps and humidity, direct sunlight does it in real quick. In winter we go from one heated box to another and if there's anybody in that hot box with ya...

I will agree on the vaccine part, but treatments are increasingly becoming a factor and are already cutting mortality rates by a quarter among the severely ill, antibody therapies are set to be deployed over the summer and fall, we await a quality study on convalescent plasma. One of the problems they are having with large scale studies is NPI's knock it down so quickly in most places they don't have enough patients to complete the study by the time they got going!

It’s always packed in meat packing plants as well. It’s also packed in many of the places where the out of town folks reside that work at the plants.....just saying :(. I’m not saying the cold is a mitigating factor, but I personally have not seen the proof.

In Canada we run from one warm indoor place to another in winter, in the southern states they do the same with air conditioning in summer, might help explain their explosion of cases, other than idiocy I mean.

So no proof then, again not saying it’s not a valid hypothesis? The explosion in cases in the states is IMO due to lack of social distancing for the most part but that’s only my opinion. I’m sure in time they will have more data. Our 30 cases (and counting) in two weeks started in one nail salon from lack of proper safety measures.

Other than personal observation and the behavior of other seasonal viruses like cold and flu. In meat packing plants social distancing and lack of safety measures were a big issue, but the recent outbreak in a German meat packing plant is cause for concern, I'm pretty sure they had strict measures in place there. There is also hard evidence on how long the bug lasts under different conditions and temps, it survives best near freezing if I recall, that's how they preserve samples, refrigerate them. It all amounts to conjecture on my part, but these are my reasons for the opinion.

Airborne spread is the biggest culprit and if everybody wore a mask in public and at work along with testing we can keep it in check. My concern is cold temps make outside spread more likely (a hockey game in a cold arena!) Also people will be spending more time inside and it will spread more seasonally like cold and flu, for the same reasons.

Hear anything about that spartan cube thing? It would make nail salons and hair places much safer to operate, so would mandatory masks and waiting in your car until called on yer phone etc. Dougie ordered a million of the fucking things alone, they ain't gonna be much use this time next year I figure.
