I asked this in a different forum but I think I might have better luck here.
I have an 8x8 tent, in a room with a small window. I have an intake fan bringing air in from outside, (vortex), and max fan pulling air out of the tent and exhausting out the window. I have a portable AC unit inside the tent, set to 61 deg running pretty much 24/7. Temps have been getting up to 92 deg with the summer heat lately... on days where it isn't very hot outside I am at a manageable 86/87 deg. I am thinking if I can put the AC unit outside the tent, and vent the cool air in that it might drop the temp a little more and it wont be robbing my tent of humidity which will also help cool things off. Problem is, the vent is very awkward. Wondering if anyone has any ideas how I could make something to snugly fit over the vent and run a 6" line into the tent.
Pic of AC: Grilles pop out,
If I could do this perhaps I could even vent one of these holes into the tent, and just leave the other side to cool the room outside the tent..
I've thought of a window a/c unit but when I had the portable ac unit outside of the tent cooling the room, the temps inside the tent were still way too high and I was taking air in from the cooled room through intake, so I think I would still need a way to vent a window ac unit into the tent directly.
Any help appreciated.
