DIY RDWC - First Timer - Any Advice Welcome

Its really got me thinking about the possibility tbh, going to do some more research on what id be able to get the other stuff wholesale for.
I need something to do anyway, maybe this is it lol...
The buckets with various pre-drilled options and bulkheads to fit them would be the base of it but one could branch out and supply black tubing, pvc/abs parts, netpots, cloner parts, maybe a few pump options and even get into offering more pre-built options like some of the others out there.
I dont need to make much profit at all as itd just be a hobby to help hydro growers get affordable gear so I could possibly be way more budget friendly.
Ive helped build and run online retail stores before, i could really get something cool going with my own site.

idk if id get into lights, pretty sure theres a whole other kind of liability there selling high powered electrical devices.
Id make it a legit business and not one of those fb shops.

I had so many 5 gal buckets I had already purchased I went ahead and used them with the uniseals. I went with 2 inch return 3/4 feed I did pick up the pump that was recommended through amazon. Waiting on sealant to dry tonight and hope to finish install tomorrow. I was surprised with the seals only a small wet spot notice on garage floor when full and all dry connection on pvc. The leak was coming from the far left front uniseal. I drained system cleaned the system and put two coats of aquarium silicone around the uniseals hopefully it will be enough.

Looks dope my friend. I gotta be honest though, uniseals shouldn't require ANY sealant. and if you depend on sealant to stop a leak, it's going to happen again, most likely. They're flexible, it's eventually going to move and break the seal. If it's not almost impossible, damn near give you a stroke, type of hard to get that pipe through the uniseals even using 50/50 of water/dish soap, your holes too big. I can't stress enough how hard it is to get the pipe through the uniseals if you're doing it RIGHT.

That’s the thing each hole was an absolute pain in the ass I cussed more these past two days than I have in years. Blisters on the palm of my hand pushing these bastards in type deal. Seeing that it was the only one leaking I’ll just replace it tho no need in having to worry if it’s going to flood room. Thanks for feedback.

Don't use silicone sealent. That stuff peels off. (doesn't bond) to Polypropylene.

I have 230 Litre RDWC in my attic sealed with hot craft glue. (bonds in 60s) Can't risk a leak.

What are your thoughts / suggestions on a top off rez? I spend a lot of my time making sure my business doesn’t go under and spending time w family lol so not much time to really do a lot else. Environment is dialed in. Checking on ppm ph and res temps the fastest way possible is the reason behind the rdwc. I’ll soon build another for my veg tent. Just wondering if the top off is more trouble than worth and if not what’s parts would be recommended

It's a good idea of you can ha e your nutes mixed I to it. Say a 55gal drum full on a float valve. Use a small pump to stir it 15on/15off.
@fragileassassin uses a top off
