New second grow advice for best yield?

You gotta love the people who dump 100% feed into new FFOF and wonder why their plants look fried

Just out of sheer curiosity, does the FFOF stuff have any indications on the bag (or whatever it comes in) that nutrients are not required for X weeks?

What I'm getting at is are all of these over feeding issues fault of the grower not reading the instructions and information that is right in front of them?

I do know there is a LOT of that. Many don't even seem to read the nutrient bottles they use. There's some damned important information on both amounts, and usually explicit mixing order for the products.

I always get the 38.5 lb bag or 1.5 cubic ft....on that bag it 100% does say no need to feed. However......if you look at their feeding schedule ( for the FF trio ) it has you starting off with a somewhat heavy feed week 1.

Yeah, FF doesn't do a good job of explaining how to use their full line which is annoying. They act like each product exists in a vacuum.

Lots of variables, likely a combination of a few. Not enough light and nutrients for faster growth, but OP is using fish emulsion which is really high in N (5-1-1) so the plant is staying nice and green. In this case the lack of light may actually be helping it stay healthy because if it was under a monster HID the plant would likely be trying to take up nutrients that weren't there to take full advantage of the available light. Decent chance genetics play something of a roll here too, not all plants grow at the same rate.

This is on of mine, end of April till today, im just using pro mix organic, and for fert im using just a simple 20 20 20 at half strength mix with 3 table spoons of molasses

I topped her twice 1once just after I upgraded her pot, and then again like 2 weeks ago, she's also only 3 20 leds because my tent is full for another week then she'll go under my 1000w

You are in good hands here if you can weed out the ones will ill intentions. Growing is learning and even the masters are still learning something new every day. Honestly...start a journal here.

You get new growers starting out in fresh FFOF and then naively buy the entire lineup of products which totals 13 according to their soil feeding chart when all they need is 3 at most. They then germinate a seed, plant it in FFOF, then follow the feeding chart and are dumping up to 2.8 EC at week 3 when the soil had plenty of nutrients up until then for the plant and nothing needed to be added. Then they have you flushing multiple time using product #14 multiple times.

I just noticed that it's not as high as I thought as they are using the 700 scale. I can't believe I missed that. It's right there on the chart. I had been going by the 500 scale. Regardless, I still think it's too much and I have seen grow after grow of people having issues. 50/50 FFOF and Happy Frog soil and just Grow Big and Tiger Bloom is what I'd do if using the brand. I wouldn't use any of the other stuff.

Another problem is....they start in Solo's and around 10-15 days is usually near transplant time. By then the cotyledons are also just starting to yellow a little too. That's when I start my feed but only at 25%. Anyways, they up-pot into 3,5 maybe larger who knows pots with fresh soil and start feeding again too forgetting the soil will have nutes to get the plant on track. Normally though I get like 1 maybe 2 veg feeds in prior to flipping because the soil has so much in it already to get you to that point.

I never have bought planting soil. I’ve always mixed up my own but I may have to try that the numbers are good but I’ve always just mixed sifted yard dirt, bull shit and Sphagnum peat moss together then just feed my plants...

I don’t have any yet that’s why I’m asking I can build the lighting array myself to save some $, just Every body saying go with T5 LED set up and stay away from all the Heat producing lighting they’re saying it’s cheaper and easier in the long run less work on cooling and humidity???
