laundry business as a front

i want to do 6 1000 watts Led and a 3 ton ac. how does a laundry business from home sound? im planning on using it as an excuse for high electricity bills if it comes knocking.
lemme know what you guys think. Also, im from nor Cal and wondering how much electricity bill would be to be considered "illegal activity"

Six lights in nor cal is like a drop of dew in the ocean. You don't need a cover. City utilities, or pg&e just want the money they won't bat an eye at what your room is going to raise your bill.
hmmm. u know what the ball park of what my bill will be for a 6 1k and 3 ton ac. ive never ran AC before, but im guessing no less than 500 a month?
laundry business is just a cover incase shit hit the ceiling, i can clean out the room in 24 hours and i have 4 old washer/dryer sittin in the garage.

Depends what they charge kilowatt per hour. My estimate would be 600 a month extra an city power, 800 pg&e.(I could be way off) With pg&e you can usually get on different tiers for heavy night time use that would help you out.

If cops come knocking, you're already screwed, as they need a warrant just to look at your electricity bills in the first place. If they're looking into your electricity bills, there is already an investigation well under way. The power company is in the business of selling electricity. As long as you pay your bill each month, they could give a shit how much you use.

Like someone else mentioned, you're in Nor Cal. Six thousand watts and an ac isn't much at all.

would you be at risk of having the IRS knocking on your door for taxes associated with your laundry business..... and/or your local municipality asking for a business license and/or operating a business in a residential building

Then you’re going to get screwed for lack of a business license. If anyone asks just say you’ve taken up welding as a hobby. A hobby. Not a business.

i dont think irs would waste their time going after a home laundry business. as far as license wise. i can just get a business license for like 100 bucks or something

at 12 hours a day and .17$ per kwh (thats the high end usually its like .13-.15) the lights will cost you 370$ a month to run. Im guessing two will be for veg so closer to 400. Adding another 200 for AC/fans/everything else is probably reasonable. Maybe a bit more.

What the hell are you worried about? It's legal to grow in California. Nobody is going to care about your electricity use with 6 lights.
ive heard pl say county send them letters saying to shut it down. smud giving out letter saynig "ur usage is more than other residents" just wnana be safe
