HELP BUD DRIED TOO FAST

Hey everyone , I harvested my bud 2 days ago and I'm drying it in a cardboard box , its been really hot these last couple of days so my buds are practically done drying. I was thinking of water curing them to add some moisture back in and to reduce the harshness. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Just get a small humidifier, use it to get the humidity in the box to around 60%, and they will level out again.

In that case throw an orange peel in the box until the RH comes back up. Could use celery, lettuce, cukes also. If your stems are still folding instead of breaking, you'll be ok.

Thank you so much. I heard that you can also add a wet towel in there to boost up the rh , would you say that's a safe bet with the orange peel?

While orange peels and wet towels will do the job, they can also promote the growth of mold. I don't know where you live, but you can pick up a Boveda or Integra Boost pack at just about any head shop, tobacco store, and even some Walmart stores carry them. I put an 8 gram pack in all my jars that each hold an ounce of flower.

Yes, an orange peel is no problem. Could it mold? Haha, of course but it's not invisible. A celery stalk will not mold.
Eventually you will need a Boveda pack, but 20 grams, there is no need for that. A Boveda is good at maintaining a set humidity but it is relatively useless for re-hydrating weed.
No need for a dehumidifier either, lol.

You can pick and choose your advice, tread carefully, keep in mind not every solution requires a purchase.

Why would you say it's useless for re-hydrating weed? I can't speak for Boveda, but I've re-hydrated weed with Integra Boost packs before very easily. I agree that it can be done the way you said, and never said it couldn't, it's just "cleaner" to use a sterile pack and you also don't risk adding other flavors to your weed. I used the orange peel method when I was younger and could always taste the terpenes from the orange peel in my weed.

Why..experience that's the reason. You'll have to quantify how much boveda you need to raise how much hydration x how much weed but overall my experience shows me it's too much task if the weed is overdry. Without exception.
An orange can mold but you can see it and it only molds if left in past it's useful purpose. Re-hydrate and remove, then add a boveda for maintenance.
Celery does not mold, it just turns yellow and that's after a long while. I recharge my boveda packs in a quart jar with a stick of celery. Done in about 12-16 hours, no smell, no water, no stains, no damage to the exterior of the pack. I've done it many other ways and that is the easiest method.

Not saying it's impossible to re-hydrate with Boveda if you use enough of it, just that it's fairly useless and inefficient when compare with either an orange peel or celery stalk. Both of which will get the job done faster. Why take longer to fix the problem by using Bovedas for something they were not meant for. Bovedas maintain humidity to an extent. They are not meant for re-hydrating.

What about the chlorophyll smell ?

You Locked the chlorophyll taste in by drying it to quick, but I wouldn't worry about more getting into the bud by using fan leafs, it's an old trick people do when its a little too dry.

Curing for a few weeks in jars, in a dark cupboard, may also help break down the chlorophyll.

Ideally you want a nice slow dry but in a pinch, a piece of 1inch stalk from a freshly harvested plant is one the easiest, safest ways to rehydrate. You don't have worry about foreign odors or mold and it only takes about 12hrs in quart jars.

This seems by far the best option, the buds are crunchy by now:/. Damn I was really excited for my first grow.
