Tent sucking in

Hey guys

I got a 1.5m x 3m tent

I’m running rhino pros, 200 out and 150 in but the tents negative pressure is sucking in so hard.

I don’t know if the fans are too small for the size?
I’ve never had it suck in so hard but I’ve never used a tent this big.

its clearly sucking out more than bring it and not loosing and heat because it’s sitting at 34c when I want it 22-25c

any ideas?

I don't know what Rhino Pro is, when i look it up I get links to carbon filters.

If your tent has too much negative pressure can you put a speed controller on the fan to slow it down? Do you have an intake fan and exhaust fan? Maybe use the lower power fan for exhaust, then just have passive intake. I use a closet as a grow space, I have an 8" fil;ter/fan combo and without a speed controller it shakes the walls and door it's so strong, I installed a speed controller to turn it down and I also enlarged the hole I cut out in the door for passive intake, no more wind tunnel.

Bigger the tent the more slack there is to pull in .

But an 8" filter would mean an 8" fan which isn't a lot for a 1.5x3m if your fully lighting it.

What fans are you using?
Where do you vent the heat to?
Do you have all your lower flaps open?

Hey mate I have a 150 6 inch in and a 200 8 inch out!

the exhaust is blowing toward open window with a blind on it.

what do you mean lower flaps? On the tent or something? Don’t think there is any!

I have 4 hps which are running hot with only 250s

Why do u have a fan blowing in the tent? What kind of tent is this? Dont see why you would need a fan blowing in air unless your using a solid room build. Tent should have bents to take in air. Use both fans as exaust.

I would work to get that exhaust sealed to the window. Build a box behind the blind so it cant be seen from outside and mount it to the window with an 8" hole and seal your duct to it.

By flaps I meant in the lower parts of the tent wall, there should be several vent flaps with Velcro, with a bug screen behind. Never seen a tent without passive intake flaps.

Your running 4x 250w hps?

What temp is the ambient air outside? If its above where you want to be then no amount of airflow will help

But these vents also allow light leaks which is why alot of people do a passive intake with a light trap

Tents also have 6inch at the bottom for the in-line fan?

yea simple solution when i need to put a tent up in a room that will have lights on i just close vents and run ducting woth a slight bend So the light wont make it into the tent.

Is that what the duct hole is for? Mine has 6 ducting holes should i put 3 exhaust and 3 inline? Tent should have passive fanless intake imo unless for whatever reason the air sourounding the tent is not good for your plants. Been growing in a tent for awhile never had a problem with negative pressure or heat or light leaks using the above method.

It was my fan controller not working ... it’s now fine thanks for caring!

No, you're the clown who suggested that grow rooms don't need an intake fan.

The tent sucking is a cause of negative pressure( bigger exhaust than intake). To a certain point is a good thing because it helps control odor but if the negative pressure is to high you could lose significant area in your tent.

My tent sucks in slightly. I have three 4" vents on the bottom with ducting going outside the tent with filters on the ends for passive intake. I have a 400 cfm 6" fan for exhaust turned way down using a controller. I have no intake into the grow room because my tent is in a garage and the garage door has enough gaps around it to allow fresh air into the garage which get's pulled in to the tent and then exhausted through the attic to a vent that goes outside. So I'm getting plenty of fresh air exchange.
