anyone have a grow box wood plan already set up? I'm building mine from scratch and am currently looking for new ideas or input.

I have a 14x14 room with about 5x5 square feet available to build, it was going to be indoors, and I have exactly zero ideas on how to go about building it.

Well, it could be something as simple as building a room. Your first step if you want to build it out of wood, would be to take a look at wall construction. Then you would need to have some tools or be able to borrow some. One of your problems will be a door, for a 5' by 5' room you would want a pocket or outswing door. What is the height you have to work with and where in the house is it? VV:blsmoke:

Well all of that is in you favor. Again start with looking at how a wall is constructed, many of the big box stores have partial walls built showing how. You could build a couple of 8' tall walls, put some panda plastic across the top and have room for your air handling system. VV

That would depend on your definition of expensive, I don't have one in my op. There are several posts of diy carbon filters posted, many of them are inexpensive. You do need a good fan and a sealed room for them to work properly. VV

yeah, cuz the room has to be smell proof, that's the only deal breaker, I've got all this space to work with, but if it smells, I'm toast. :3

are carbon filters the best? or is there better?

Carbon vs ozone. you will get a lot of answers on that one. Both work. Carbon wears out, ozone is kinda dangerous to breath, so it needs to be vented outside the house.

I agree build a room. Go the full 10 feet (they make 2x4s longer then 8 foot :-?) Drywall and all. I'd use the blue drywall designed for bathrooms, its better dealing with moisture. Now you have 4 walls to hang stuff from and paint the way you want.

Divide the room into 2. (light proof) 75% for flowering 25% for veg/clone/mothers.

well personally i'd use 2 600watt.. or 1- 1000 watt.. the 1 1000watt would be cheaper but less efficient and have to be up higer.. unless you buy a cooltube... i'd also buy a carbon filter. for the smell.. the rest of the money you should spend on soil.. a good digital thermometer and humidity meter.. get 5 gallon buckets for you plants and fill them with about 2 inches away from the top with good soil.. the buckets must have holes in the bottom with a handful of small rocks in the bottom for drainage... also buy some plastic for the floor and paint the walls flat white... buy some good nutes also.. that should be about you budget.. o and you'd have to water by hand to save money... you'd also need a timer for 12/12.. and you could use floros for veg.. how many plants are you going to have in the space anyways?

For a 14x14 space? 2 1000W is stretching it a bit. (as will the outside plants)

For $1K, think a smaller room. Or tossing the $1k all into the flowering room and spending about another $200-300 on the veg/clone/other room

from my understanding.. fluffytoke has a 5x5 space to grow in... the 5x5 space is the only space that he can use out of the 14x14 space

so what do you think guys... should he use 2 600watt.. or 1- 1000 watt.. i think the 1- 1000watt would be cheaper but less efficient becauseit would have to be up higher.. unless you buy a cooltube... i'd also buy a carbon filter. for the smell.. the rest of the money you should spend on soil.. a good digital thermometer and humidity meter.. get 5 gallon buckets for you plants and fill them with about 2 inches away from the top with good soil.. the buckets must have holes in the bottom with a handful of small rocks in the bottom for drainage... also buy some plastic for the floor and paint the walls flat white... buy some good nutes also.. that should be about you budget.. o and you'd have to water by hand to save money... you'd also need a timer for 12/12.. and you could use floros for veg.. how many plants are you going to have in the space anyways?

yeah, but the medical card says I can only have up to 6, so I guess that's my limit at the moment. once I get good enough I was thinking of like 100 plants :P
