You could build a "vent chamber." Vent everything into a separate chamber with an ozone maker in it. Then vent to the outside from there.

For design ideas, go to youtube and watch Mr Green's "I Grow Cronic" series. EXTREMELY fantastic video that covers everything you'll need for building. It's lite on ventilation details, but you'll get the basics.

if you want him to build walls and sheetrock and the works his 500-1000 is gunna be burnt up pretty quickly. and if you have a med card why are you worried about smell?

i'd look into DIY grow tents. can be built cheaply and can tear down and move if need be.

$1000 gets ate up real quick getting into this hobby. i'd just go 1 600w hps for now and then get another as you harvest and get more money. after building a room, buying a light, buying venting and carbon filters, soil, seeds, nutes, ph tools tons of stuff not being mentioned here.

you need to make a list and price everything out and then you can upgrade or downgrade to stay in your budget. planning is the biggest part of setting up this hobby.

Check out Dark Room Grow tents. I just got the 150 and it would fit perfectly in your space. It's easy to set up and they arent very expensive. Unless you have the wood already.

well you don't really need a vent chamber a carbon filter would work for that... free is always good... you could just build a 5' tall by 2'by 2' veg space to keep mother and unrooted clones.. you could use cfl's or verticly hung 4 ft floros.. then you could make that so no light gets out an have that box in you flowering room.. it would take up a it more space but you would have it all in the same room...
