Colin Kapernick is the face of Nike's Just do it campaign. Old white men burn shoes. Too funny

Kaepernick and Eric Reed settled with the NFL. Kaep is to receive between 60 and 80 million dollars.

Collin and Reid claimed the NFL with their Trumpkin owners colluded to prevent them from continuing to play football. Of course the owners denied this. Kaepernick never found another team to play for. Or maybe he never found a team willing to pay what he was worth? Who knows. After Eric Reid's contract with the SF 49ers ended in 2018 without a deal, a lack of offers left Reid with no options. He to eventually accepted a 1 year league minimum contract just to be able to play the 2018-19 season. This year, as a free agent, Reid signed a three-year $22 million dollar contract with the Carolina Panthers. He had a great season in 2018 and was ranked 10th among strong safeties in the NFL. Yet, with nothing wrong with him, he was only offered league minimum salary for that year. Now that he's vindicated, in 2019 he's getting paid closer to what he's worth. No collusion?

Nobody gets paid $60 million in a settlement if they don't have a case.

The numbers may not be known to everyone in the NFL, but one thing is certain--Colin Kaepernick received a hefty payday.

Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid's collusion case against the NFL officially came to an end on Friday afternoon. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, and the NFLboth put out a statementsaying that the matter had officially been resolved. Terms of the agreements were not revealed, and they will not see the light of day due to the confidentiality agreement.

"For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL. As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party."

No collusion, huh? The only question remaining is -- what were the NFL owners hiding that they were willing to pay 60 million to keep it quiet? I do wish that these hush money agreements could be restricted in their use.

I suggest you learn how NFL contracts are structured. The only monies guaranteed are your signing bonus. You can sign a 3 year deal and get released in your first year.
Does being stupid hurt ?
If NFL players pay weren't constrained by an owner-friendly contract with the players association, Eric Reid, who is one of the top ten at his position, would be paid what he's worth, which is much more than 7.3 million dollars. The players make the business valuable, not the owners.

As you say, the three year contract isn't worth anything until Reid makes the roster on the first game of the year. Even then he's only guaranteed a salary for that year. Players rarely realize the full value of a multi-year contract.

The NFL is a multi billion dollar business that made $14 billion in profits last year and owned by multi billionaires yet people complain about the workers salaries. :wall:

He tried to tell us. He really did. He made his career from his own sweat and blood. Took his team to the superbowl and almost won it. For the simple act of quietly sitting or kneeling during the anthem of a country that dishonors him and his heritage, he was blackballed by billionaire old white men from ever playing again. The president of the United States called him a son of a bitch.

What Do You Think of Colin Kaepernick Now?
It shouldn't have taken this, but a weekend of violence has forced a new perspective on his peaceful protest of four years ago. Now: Imagine if he first knelt today, after George Floyd's killing by a police officer. And try to imagine what happens next

America is on fire, and Colin Kaepernick tried to warn us. He saw what many white people did not want to see four years ago, and he said what many prominent white coaches and athletes are saying today. Some truths make people uncomfortable until we hear them enough, and that is really all Kaepernick did: He told the truth and made people uncomfortable. He didn’t even really raise his voice. Contrast our current national civil unrest with Kaepernick in his last NFL season: a man, before a football game, kneeling during the national anthem. It seems so quaint.

The truth will out. It always does.

Does the exploitation of the issue by Russian propaganda degrade Kaepernick's statement against racism? I don't understand what you are trying to say.
Not at all, I think it is a bummer that it was used to divide people with it being hammered with propaganda trolling by the Russians.

I was just putting it in there for context, for the people that try to pretend the Russians attacking our democracy for Trump's re-election campaign is some conspiracy and not because Trump admitted he fired Comey because of the 'Russian thing', but then don't understand why Kaepernick was doing that was to help us not get to where we are today.

Sorry if it came off like I was attacking you for posting it, I wasn't.
