Problems diagnosing leaf symptoms in PC Grow

Hi all,

I'm having some problems with auto blueberry f1. I cannot identify what exactly is wrong looking at pictures and descriptions so if you could, any help is much appreciated.

Specs:

Very big PC case for growing (insulated with diamond diffusion mylar)
Vetilation 120mm outtake and 80mm intake fan
Grow medium: DWC (hydroton)
Led light: Sanlight m30
Nutrients: GHE Flora series (hard water) and GHE Ph down
Light cycle: 24/7

The leaves start as solid light green but tips slowly getting brownish color with some spots, first leaves are also deformed and show much more of the same symptoms. New leave start to get this color at tips and it slowly progresses to the whole leaf. By touch they feel dry and brittle, everyday a little more. The plant is 2 weeks old started from seed, I check and regulate PH daily to aprox 5,5-6. The cointainer has 2,4l of water with about 60% recomended dosage from GHE including an airstone which provides a lot of oxygen. I suspected something wrong with water altough we should have very good water if you dont count in hardness of it. Where I live this is very common due to ground structure. Today I tried and mixed about 800ml of distilled water and 1600ml of tap water to see if it helps. I also have Cal/mg but never used it since our water is hard. The roots seem very very healthy and are spreading like crazy so I dont suspect anything wrong with temp of water, light leek to container or similar. The temperature and humidity of the box is ok. I suspected light burn but found pictures of examples and they dont look the same to me. Could you please help me, I dont want by baby to die!

What is the EC of your water coming out of the tap? Have you seen the latest analysis of this water? They’re usually online.

Weed Modifier
Calcium deficiency.
What is ppm/ec of your tap water? If you use distilled or RO you def will have to add cal/mag into the water.

you need to use that cal/mag for sure...

the EC is 306 μS/cm, PH is 7.7, water should be hard which is indicated by the ph

@lime73 today was the third water change, 2 of those were 2.4l of tap water. I was concerned that the high magnesium in water is not allowing the plant to absorb calcium properly so in todays third water change I mixed 1,6L of tap water and 0,8L of distilled water to bring the magnesium down.

@icetech could it be that the symptoms are the same if the water is too hard rather then being to soft? Because we have quite hard water and I'm so afraid to add Cal/mag. How much should I add it to a 2,4l reservouir in this condition ? On the bottle it says that I should add from 0.1 to 1ml per L

Should I cut down the first two leaves which are quite brown? I dont wanna stun the growth

Thanks for the help

Looks like a P deficiency to me.
looks like growing pains notice how the new growth looks great. Pick the leaves off and move on.
ppms on a plant this size should be about 300. Doubt your going to hit that number with tap water and a decent veg nute....so the tap is going to put you over the ppms that you want in hydro ..as far as a well balanced nutrient water hitting the roots...if this was dirt it woulndt be an issue. The tap ppm count and excessive ppms / salts restrict plant growth. Might want to get an r/o system if you stay with hydro.
Switch light to 18/6.

Dont know why your growing in a pc case unless it for fun or the pc case is 4x4 and 6 feet high

Oh my bad, I read somewhere that its corelated. So it would still be ok to add Cal/mag with those water analysis readings?

@hotrodharley thats correct EC at 20 degrees its not .306 but 306 μS/cm. Here we have a lot of limestone therefore we should have quite hard water.
So it’s 3.06 EC? If so I would switch totally to distilled/RO water and amend with cal mag.

Thats what I was thinking of doing, should I add anything else to distilled water besides Cal/mag and GHE flora series nutes?

Will mixing tap water and distilled water make any difference?

The reason for growing in such a small space, altough legal where I am, I dont want everyone that comes to my small apartment to know that I smoke weed. I dont smoke everyday so I am not frustrated about small yields, I just rather enjoy something Ive grown myself rather then buying. This is also my first grow attepmt ever. The case is the bigges one Ive seen anyone use - full tower.

an autoflower is the wrong plant to grow in a tight space like that. You dont know when its going to start budding it could get huge.

if you dont smoke much then grow some tomatoes and learn from that if your worried about people knowing then when you get a place that lets you grow /nobody can see it/ then you will have knowledge of how to grow

I would only mix tap and distilled if I had wild ph swings. The tap will help stop that. Or mix tap and distilled and no calmag as the tap probably has enough of that in there already.

This is exactly what I did today, I mixed 800ml of distilled with 1600ml of tap water. If I dont see any difference I will probably switch to distilled and add cal/mag myself.

I smoke about 15-20g per month, I think that I could pull it off in the case for my needs. Im not hiding it from friends or my girlfriend more from co-workers who come and visit me from time to time. Moving would not change my visitors :D

Thanks for the help I appreciate it

Many suggest switching to distilled and adding Cal/mag, what do you think? Would mixing tap with distilled water help?
remember excessive salts restrict plant growth and autos are lite feeders from what I learned about them.

If your going to mix tap and distilled alwasy measure it out and be consistant so you can read the plant and have a base ..whate the word im looking for a starting point to go by so like one gal of distilled and a quart of tap each time..these are just numbers im putting out.. so do that everytime so you know what your doing on a daily basis.. if any of that makes sense.

dont be willy nilly

moving can get you spot to grow though. that plant is going to out grow the case before it buds.

Like I said the new growth looks great pik the two leaves off and move on. Learn but only do small changes to what your doing.

If it aint broke dont fix it
