You got to be keen to do the winters down here. I surfed the pines a few weeks back nice little mal wave but forgot booties and got a foot cramp pretty quick lol. It was my first paddle in like 4 months my mates were more surfers then me but they have all moved to different locations around oz so haven’t been super motivated lately. My daughter and son want there own boards so should provide some inspiration.
I also miss been up north the waves are much easier to surf, well less paddling. We would sleep at Dbah in our cars other breaks as well but Dbah was our fav. this is back around 05-08 and fish the break wall for a feed, smash waves and get high as fuck. Generally lived off sausages and bread if fishing was no good and chased anything in a bikini around.
Mate that was living
that’s for sure. Have surfed down your way in winter and it’s freezing. Me and m8’s would road trip for the Bells Easter and do the bands at the farm etc, surf Winky and Jan Juc. Had friends at Ocean Grove and St Leonard’s we’d catch up with and party. Geez, even surfed down Luke’s way in Tassie at the Carlton River mouth entrance, now that’s turning balls into raisins.
I moved permanently to the Goldy about 20 years ago after a small stint in Sydney, we had a share house at a little beach called Bungan on Sydney’s northern beaches.
Places like Dbah, Snapper, Kirra when it’s working, Burleigh and South Straddie are my locals. More South Straddie, known as TOS is my local, just a quick zap in the boat and anchor up behind the break. Ride a long board more often these days being the wrong side of mid 50’s lol.
Absolutely love my fishing too m8. Super keen.

temp compensation just adjusts the figure so it’s from the same temp range every time (probably 24 degeees c or something) it doesn’t stop the actual ph from being different but. What the meter will show and what’s actually happening will be different.
Make of that what you want. To me temp is not even worth worrying about according to this calibration fluid 0.06 between 30° and 50°

amazing how interconnected we all are. I've never tried a surf board but as a kid had a blow up surf mat and moved into body boards. Was a little nipper at Surfers paradise S.C , surfed Avoca nsw when on holidays and lived at Whale beach North Sydney for a little while. Mainly surfed the cold stuff though around Penguin and the big cold stuff at Marrawah both in Tas.

six degrees of separation m8.
Love Penguin, unreal pie n pastry shop there.

edit. Whale beach is a great spot, just around the Bilgola bends and through Avalon from where I was in Sydney.

Tap water can fuck shit quickly if you don’t know what’s in it. There isn’t a place in Australia that gets identical tap water, the mineral content changes from storage location to storage location. For example my water is pretty decent and isn’t considered hard or soft, drive 1/2 hour up the road and they’re pulling from a different dam and the waters so hard it’ll fuck dishwashers and washing machine pumps from the calcium carbonate buildup.
If it's below 0.5, i'd be very surprised if you encountered problems. In my first coco grow i started with 0.5 tap water, to which i accidentally added another 0.3 of calmag. The damage was minimal.

I see a lot more trouble with people using ro water or very low ec water (0.1). Calmag issues and ph fluctuations like crazy.

Palm beach rd...
you got me thinking of my time down in Sydney now. Many a Sunday arvo session at the Newport Arms Hotel. Went back there a few years ago and it’s completely different now. The grass hill on the Pittwater side is basically gone. That was our hang, bands, beers and sneaky J’s.

Yea, they wrecked the arms and concreted the grass. Was such a shame. I spent a bit of time there on the pool table and sundays on the grass. Was a big hangout that grass section, people, dogs, kids, bands- good food and a killer view with no wind and at the Avalon RSL as well.

Until you get 2 weeks solid rain for last 2 weeks of flower one time then you say to yourself damn maybe a $200 dehuey would have been useful.

Even VPD obsessives drop their humidity last 2 weeks of flower.
Yeah thats happened to me once middle of summer got heaps of rain 2 weeks before chop n got a bit of bud rot but nothing bad just set up another couple fans

yep, temps and humidity come right down for me last couple of weeks after c02 gets turned down. 0 issues, no matter how dense.
