Keeping your Rez around 22ish also means more dissolved oxygen, heat mats mostly help with stopping the cold rising up. If your in a tent grab an electric blanket and throw it underneath between the tent and the floor.
I nearly said electric blanket bit thought it sounded stupid
Under the tent itself u said rez ?

I've never been big on foliar outdoors ( old habits hard to change ) but I see Saffa like reza said with awesome results when doing foliar it's definitely something I need to make more of an effort next season doing.
Nts brand reza wasnt it ?
Yeah I do believe it’s mostly nts products saffa runs, think he throws a few other products in with a few of the nts lines. I definitely rate their cmb trio as a calcium foliar. Nts pretty much have a product for everything

Cmb thats the one I'm thinking off mate
Smurf gifted me a bottle I'll use it up during the tent grow Then buy another bottle for outdoors

I don't normally grow in winter, but thought I'd give it a go indoors this year, which means I'm looking to replace the shitty Viparspectra's that I mistakenly bought a couple of years ago (yeah, yeah, like a lot of others, I got sucked-in by the hype...:().

Given it's winter, I've been looking at 600W HPS with a dimmable digital ballast, which I know will cover the 4 x 4 (2m) tent I have available. However, my question is around the heat generated.

Would it be enough to keep the temperature inside the tent where it needs to be in its own? Too much?

If it's too much, I've got a 6" extractor fan with a carbon filter & speed controller that I can plug into an STC-1000 thermostat controller. If not enough, I could use a supplementary tower fan heater (also controlled by the same STC unit). Set the desired temperature & let the STC turn on either the heater or the extractor fan.

So how much heat do these things actually produce? Please don't say 600W, I already know that! I'm just wondering about the heating capacity of the light in the cubic volume.

Hopefully, I'm on the right track, 'just never done this before & hoping someone with a similar setup could shed some light (pardon the obvious pun!) on the subject.

Anything I'm missing? I know there are lot of other variables, 'just wondering if I'm on the right track.

You still need some kind of extraction to
Replace co2 even if the hps doesn’t make the tent too hot.

They produce enough to keep em warm with a fan and controller youd have no worries getting acceptable temps id reckon

'Bet the telegraph pole came-out 2nd best on that one (I'm reminded of an episode of Top Gear when they tried multiple times to kill an '80's Hilux & it just refused to die under any circumstances!).
It did, it cost him a new pole.
Yep, its in the back ground of the later top gear episodes

What's the ambient temps roughly night and day?

Do you have the light already? If not, I'd get a thouie for sure for 16 sq foot.

Then just have good air flow within the tent 24/7 then have your intake and extraction hooked up to the thermostat. A thousand watts will heat it up fast run it at night as well.
