Lockdowns don't work.

Oh I'm not concerned, I just wish you'd stop being so desperate to derail my threads. You've been at that for months and haven't made any thoughtful arguments, just emotional pleas for me to stop questioning things in ways that seem to somehow bother you.

I really don't make my threads for you and yet you constantly show up in my alerts. I hate to say I'd be relieved if you got intubated.
I have never pleaded with you to do anything, I’m just saying your logic is flawed. It is you that has made this personal with me and most everyone who has responded and not agreed, a common pattern I might add. It is you that has become very angry not I. You also complain on every thread that it’s getting derailed so a pattern of extreme emotion maybe. This would have stayed on topic but unfortunately you seem unable to control your responses. As a gesture of goodwill (even after you wish me great harm :() I will leave this thread before you declare the debate is over anyways. People are now asking if you mind them posting ...... wow.

Nobody is saying you have to come outside. You can continue staying in lockdown as long as you want to. In fact, you probably do stay 6 feet from people by their will anyway.

Abandon, what do you think of the 3 phase back to new norm that Dr Fauci and Dr Birx laid out yesterday at the Virus Task Force Briefing ? Is it ok for me to post on your thread?
It's ok for everyone to post, obviously, but when people sit and suggest I'm having a psychological breakdown because they don't like what I'm saying and also do not offer any valid arguments, while constantly responding and showing up in my alerts, I do get annoyed and let them know. I haven't seen anything like that from you.

No, I don't think they're doing enough. They need a test and trace program yesterday to get the spread under control but they seem to realize that they are going to have to get the economy up long before there's a vaccine anyway and that for some reason, they just can't implement a big enough testing program. I no longer see those two things as necessarily connected. As much as people hate it, it is necessary to have an economy and whether they continue the lockdowns or not a testing and tracing program is also necessary. It's not even really about how to open the economy, they know that they have to, deaths or not.

shut the fuck up

This thread, if you get over your emotional reaction to its contents and go back and read it is full of careful arguments and at least a dozen people berating me for it. I appreciate those few attempts you've made to argue but most of them were tainted by your condescending and idiotic attempts at therapy. I'm over here laying out post after post with perfect english and carefuly researched arguments formatted academically and motherfuckers are making mock threads about it.

The fact is, I was right all along and they are trying to open up the economy now because they fucking have to. I saw it before any of you did and had the balls call it. Yes, more people will fucking die. I saw that before any of you too when most people were mocking me in the other thread.

China's got the only active navy in the West Pacific now and they're conducting nuclear tests. Guys like you will hide behind guys like me.

China is conducting nuclear tests now? Why do you think they are doing this. This is terrible news. Can their nuclear warheads reach the United States?
i agree that we are completely fucked without testing and tracking.
As the summer approaches and people want to go On summer vacations I see a huge problem spreading the virus to areas of the country that do not have large numbers of the virus . I am all for the tracing and tracking but in the briefing yesterday tracking and tracing was not mentioned. I thought google and Apple were going to have a app to download but the leaders aren’t talking about it. It’s useless unless everyone is going to use it.

They need national leadership on the federal level and federal money and legislation to get around the privacy aspect. I have also read that they need Chinese pharm supplies but I had thought that was limited to shit like albuterol to get the sick people on ventilators. I think they can get the tests without China.

Fine, no more psychobabble, deal with it as you will.

People argued you into the ground on this thread and rightly so, you are wrong about social isolation not preventing the spread. I posted a CNN article that explains the anomaly in the NYC data, it finishes your argument. I'll go with some of the other ideas you elaborated on here, but that's about it. I don't see much evidence of careful research, you've quoted numbers from worldometer and posted a graph. Others myself included have cited sources that contradict your basic contention, your expand one is a slightly different matter. I've even posted an app that predicts hospital resources based on the same mathematical models you are critical of, the app 's predictions are accurate, but depend on the data inputted and that is based on the testing done. The methodology they used is in the FAQ on the site.

My reaction to this thread was and remains hostile for a reason and the reason is that you are wrong and have failed to prove anything. I addressed your motives compassionately, but I have not engaged in ad hominem attacks or even much ridicule of the idea itself. You failed to spin more than one hypothesis to explain the data, but jumped to a conclusion that you unsuccessfully tried to defend.

My attitude grew compassionate as I watched your desperation, don't mistake compassion for condescension.

Confronting China is up to Uncle Sam and Donald is running the show so forget that, he is the reason China was able to leverage the situation to their advantage and they will continue to do so, economically, politically, geographically, diplomatically and militarily.

Yes, in Gov Cuomo’s news briefing he said that That Trump can’t pass the Buck with out providing the Bucks to do it financially. Cuomo has talked a lot about tracing and tracking and mentioned that it would take an Army of people to do it but he does not talk about using AI or a government issues phone or tracking device. That’s what we all need a tracing device and unlimited testing .

3 billion people are under lockdown right now on this planet.
Where I live in the US we are not under lockdown. The harshest mandate we face is no gathering of more than 10 people. So businesses that can’t work around that are closed, but the list of essential businesses is long. Car dealerships are open. Lowe’s is open. Auto mechanics, plumbers, construction, hvac, drive thru and restaurants that can transition to take out only. Most of the businesses I mentioned are operating at maximum capacity. Yes measures are in place to prevent transmission but it’s all pretty DIY and about as effective as you’d think (not).
IMO we aren’t under lockdown.

China is winning bigly, they won't nuke anybody, its bad for business.

You are 100% correct about testing and vacations this summer, America is in a trap of Trump's making, it wasn't a plan, it was just stupidity, dereliction of duty and malicious incompetence. Getting rid of Trump this summer is the only way out, America can't wait until January, you don't have that luxury.

I’m not a trumper but wasn’t it in February when those briefings took place where the government was warned about what was about to happen? So the 2 or 3 weeks we could have been using to work on what we could (ventilators, expanding hospital capacity, etc) would have been nice but wasn’t it already too late by then to prevent the pandemic? And the truth is those briefings are pitched as possibility’s rather than concrete certainties so decision makers never act on speculation alone.

The problem was Trump was asleep on the job. The actual health officials were screaming, for real too it is worth reading the emails) by the end of January.

So it would have been about a 2 month jumpstart on where we are now. Early on he could have had the gear secured and given companies a heads up to lock it down germ transmission wise, but never did. Even a week later when the Republicans covered up for Trump, he didn't use the office to warn the public of this incoming disaster. Downplayed it over and over as he went on his global post-impeachment joyride.

Then when it started to get bad, instead of dragging his heels, he still did not get on gearing up the hospitals/first responders with PPE, he left us on our own because he would not listen to the dorks doing their jobs, because you know.... Ratings and deep state were on his mind. Now he cries fake news overtime he can't dodge a question at his daily rallies.

China’s gross domestic product shrank for the first time in decades as the coronavirus pandemic delivered a devastating blow to the world’s second-largest economy — a glimpse of what may be to come around the world.
Meanwhile, President Trump seemingly took the side of protesters in Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia who are defying social distancing orders to rally against the states’ safety measures intended to stop the coronavirus spread. In back-to-back tweets, Trump wrote: “LIBERATE MINNESOTA” and then, “LIBERATE MICHIGAN” and then, “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!”
